North Park RV Campground

Overview

North Park RV Campground serves as a reliable and welcoming base for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of western North Dakota. This family-operated park emphasizes cleanliness and accessibility, offering a straightforward layout designed for ease of use and maximum comfort. Whether you are passing through on Interstate 94 or planning an extended stay to discover the history of the region, this park provides a stable and friendly environment that captures the spirit of Great Plains hospitality for every visitor.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on the north side of Dickinson, the park offers an incredibly convenient location just off the main highway without sacrificing the quiet charm of the prairie. The surrounding area features the vast North Dakota horizons, characterized by wide-open skies and rolling landscapes that change beautifully with the seasons. Its strategic position makes it a perfect jumping-off point for those transitioning between urban centers and the wild natural wonders of the west, providing easy access to essential local services and Stark County amenities.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility is exceptionally well-equipped to handle various rig sizes, offering spacious full-hookup sites with both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Travelers frequently praise the paved interior roads and the well-maintained level gravel pads that simplify the setup process for even the largest motorhomes. On-site conveniences include modern laundry facilities and pristine showers, which are essential for those on long-haul journeys. The park also provides reliable Wi-Fi and a dedicated pet area, ensuring that every member of the family has a comfortable stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

One of the primary draws of staying in Dickinson is the close proximity to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, located just a short drive to the west in Medora. Guests can spend their days hiking through dramatic geological formations or spotting bison and wild horses in their natural habitat. For a more local experience, the Badlands Dinosaur Museum offers fascinating exhibits on prehistoric life, while the nearby Enchanted Highway provides a whimsical road trip featuring massive, world-record-sized scrap metal sculptures.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for travelers who value convenience and functional amenities over high-end resort-style luxuries. It is a fantastic choice for families looking for a safe, well-maintained stopover and for retirees seeking a quiet, accessible home base while touring the northern national parks. Because of its big-rig friendly layout and simple highway access, it is particularly well-suited for those driving large fifth wheels or Class A motorhomes who desire a stress-free parking and hookup experience.

This campground is conveniently located 1 mi off of freeway. We had a huge pull thru site, no need to unhook 44' toyhauler. Definitely big rig friendly. Easy in and out. Full hook ups. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place! Easy access off interstate! Amazing and friendly staff! Have stayed a few times just passing through the area. They made check-easy even when rolling in late. We will be staying here again! Highly recommend!

The Wi-Fi is sporadic at best. The service at check in was excellent. My issue is that even though there were more empty spaces on our row than occupied ones, they still placed us in between 2 other RV’s. These are not normal spaces. There are 2 together sharing utilities. This means on one side, you are face to face with your neighbors so if you want to sit outside, you are also sitting in their front yard and your picnic tables are close together. On the other side, you can reach out and touch your neighbors as they are in the same spot. This is okay if there wasn’t empty spaces everywhere. It wasn’t a great way to enjoy your spot and the beautiful weather we had while there. Just placing everyone in their own spot when you are not busy would have made it a much more pleasant experience. The park itself is nice.

Stayed here 1 night when we went to the Medora Musical (about a 36 mile drive, so not too far). Sites are roomy and easy to get in and out. The 2 women in the office we're super helpful and friendly.

Very nice, clean campground. From the satellite image this looks like a sprawling campground but the RV sites are relatively spacious and they have large areas of green lawn and trees The bathroom was excellent, really great shower, very clean.

We chose North Park by the 6 hour rule! Good luck! The owner is so friendly, shower house and laundry room were clean. We were just overnight guests traveling the West…. Recommended

It’s a very nice campground. The people in the office are extremely nice and for the most part they will guide you to your spot. There is plenty of room. Our spot was very long and easily accommodated our fifth wheel and truck. They do have showers and a laundry room. The only issue with the laundry is there’s only four washers and four dryers. It seems like they should have more for the number of people that can stay here. When we were here, two of the washers were out of order. At night there is a very little road noise. Now and again you can hear a train whistle, but it is in the distance so it’s not very loud.

One of the best campground I’ve stayed at and the price is unbeatable. The owners are so sweet and friendly! It’s one of a few campgrounds that allow one night stays during the weekend. Bathrooms were very clean and had a large grass area for pet walks. Highly recommend!

Great RV park! Extra long pull through sites with full hookups. Clean laundry and showers. Great owners that are knowledgeable about all of the things to do around them. Friendly and personable, great people to meet.

When my husband and I were traveling we spent are summers at North Park. It was fabulous. The park is so restful. When we retired we decided to buy a home and move in. We have lived here 5 years. This is the best place to spend vacations , as well as living here. The park is settled in a family surrounding. Lots of trees, laundry facilities. It’s not that expensive to live here. The park is quiet, and no crime. Safe for your children, with bus service for school children. The staff is great and is available to help with any problems.
