We did seasonal site here and enjoyed our time. The non hookup sites are small and not alot of room. The staff was nice and friendly. The owners are great people and very helpful. The park is close to higgins south state park and other boat docks. Thr park is small and well kept. Very quiet park.

This camping experience rocked! Just a few minute drive from both Higgins and Houghton lake. 3 friends and I stayed in a tent on a rustic tent site. The bathrooms and showers are super clean, the staff responded quick and were very kind and helpful, and the campground is peaceful, has access to trails, and was sweet to be on.

Thank you Pat and Marsha camp hosts. Even though we only stayed 1 night you were gracious and so helpful, including backing our camper into the site for us. Super clean bathrooms! We will definitely plan to return for a longer stay.

As always, we had a wonderful weekend at Northern Nights, the check in was smooth and easy and our order for firewood was waiting for us when we arrived. The campground had a movie night while we were there and it was enjoyed by many of the campers. We really had a nice site and love the full hook up! Bathrooms were very clean, and hope to make it back before the end of summer.

Wow, this campground is amazing! I have been to many campgrounds in my life and this is bar-none one of the nicest ones I've ever been to! The bathrooms alone were truly immaculate, I don't think I saw one spider/cob web the entire week we were there, they were literally spotless! My wife and I tent camped on a rustic site for one week and it was beautiful and so quiet! Ben was amazing about helping us locate our site as the rustic sites aren't marked. We had a beautiful view of the woods, plus the site was very spacious and we were really able to spread out! The camp hosts were also so sweet and always greeted us with a smile and a wave. Gord was so nice and always checked in with us in the mornings after cold or rainy nights. He was also amazing about delivering wood! All in all, Northern Nights is a 11/10 and I will be recommending it to anyone looking to camp in the area! We had such a relaxing week and were heartbroken to leave! We are already talking about coming to stay again, hopefully soon!

Self check in type of campground witch is pretty nice. RV sites are very easy to find and get to. great prices as long as you stay less then four days anything over four days they will charge you for electric. all in all this campground was pretty nice to stay at.

Self check in was easy peasy I loved it. The site was perfect for what I needed. Just a small pine tree was sort of in the way couldn’t back up far enough to make connection to water easy. Had to stretch hose. The campground was peaceful and relaxing. I would definitely love to come back.

Beautiful campground with full hookups available. Nice sites with lots of trees for hammocks and shade. Perfect area close to Higgins Lake and South Branch of the AuSable River. We stayed 3 weeks and got a weekly rate. We really enjoyed ourselves with our kayaks on the lakes and rivers nearby.

Edit: This review is updated due to the owner being accusatory of myself being intoxicated. I would like to point out that the owner does not even stay near the campground, but we had this discussion over the phone while he was in New Jersey. Therefore he was unable to even see/speak with me in person. Yes, I am guilty of saying one cuss word to the owner (not his staff) I actually feel terrible for Maggie- the lovely lady who had to clean up Ben’s mess. Please be wary of any owner that throws out false accusations to try and cover their butts (I’ll keep it PG). Not a good look. The owner does not need to agree with this review, but I have stated only facts with the exception of my opinion that I stated at the end of my review. Really, though, the campground itself looked lovely. Just want you to know what you’re getting yourselves into if you book. No one wants to turn up to someone else in their reserved space. ————————————————————— I've been reading some reviews and noticed that the owner has responded to negative feedback by claiming the campground is now under new management. However, let me tell you—this new management is precisely why I will not be returning to Northern Nights. Although the campground itself looked lovely, I never got the chance to experience it. During a long road trip with my family, we had booked a night at Northern Nights, only to arrive and discover that our space had been double-booked. Ben, the owner, chose to accommodate a "repeat customer" who was staying for more nights, leaving us without our reserved spot. Ben's managerial skills are lacking, and his customer service is even worse. While he did book us a room at a low-rate motel—a far cry from the beautiful summer night we had hoped for at the campground—this inconvenience meant that our family was split up into separate rooms instead of enjoying time together. To add insult to injury, he refused to offer a refund for our reservation, despite another family occupying the spot and paying for it. When we suggested that this was insufficient compensation and requested a refund, he laughed and said, "You're not going to be making a profit off of this." I have to agree with a previous reviewer: Ben seems more interested in prioritizing those who will generate more income for him than in providing good service to all customers.
