Okanogan-Wenatchee/Indian Creek
Overview
Indian Creek Campground offers a quintessential mountain escape on the western edge of Rimrock Lake. Tucked within the sprawling Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, this site provides a rustic retreat for those looking to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature. The landscape is dominated by towering Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine trees, offering a cool, shaded canopy for campers during the warm summer months. It is a place where the sound of the wind through the trees and the gentle lap of lake water define the quiet, peaceful atmosphere.
Location & Surroundings
Situated along Highway 12, roughly 40 miles west of Naches, WA, the park serves as a beautiful gateway to the high Cascades. The campground is perched at an elevation of approximately 3,000 feet, providing a refreshing alpine climate even when the valley below is hot. Its prime location on the shores of Rimrock Lake makes it a premier destination for water enthusiasts, while the surrounding Wenatchee National Forest offers vast stretches of rugged wilderness and scenic mountain vistas easily accessible from your campsite.
Amenities & Park Features
As a traditional Forest Service site, the focus here is on natural beauty rather than modern luxuries. The park features vault toilets and potable water via hand pumps, making it essential for RVers to arrive with their own power sources and full fresh water tanks. Most sites include a paved parking spur, a picnic table, and a sturdy fire ring for evening gatherings. While there are no utility hookups, the campground accommodates various rig sizes, with several sites specifically designed for larger RVs up to 45 feet. A paved boat launch is also available on-site.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Water activities are the primary draw, with fishing and motorized boating on Rimrock Lake being highly popular throughout the season. Anglers often find success catching kokanee salmon and various trout species right from the shore or by boat. For those who prefer land-based adventures, the Clear Lake Loop Trail is nearby, offering a gentle hike with stunning views of the surrounding peaks. During the late summer and fall, the area becomes a hub for elk viewing and huckleberry picking, providing a true Pacific Northwest experience.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for self-contained RVers who value privacy and proximity to nature over resort-style amenities. It is a fantastic choice for outdoor enthusiasts who want immediate access to water sports or those seeking a quiet basecamp for exploring the Cascades. Families who enjoy traditional camping experiences like evening campfires and stargazing will find the forested environment perfect. If you prefer a tranquil, rustic camping experience without the noise of a busy commercial park, Indian Creek is a perfect fit.

Collin is a very gracious and accommodating host! The campsites are well spaced and clean. The toilets are small but kept clean. There is fresh water available too. We will camp there again and again!

Love the outside, the lake an the trees to run along were amazing. but each campground was to close together like less then 10 steps away from eachother. The bathrooms (pretty clean portapotties but some smelled awful even from afar) didn't have sinks and no shower in sight. Water was nearby and when we frist saw it, took my breath away. Quiet by 10pm is understandable but the freeway was so loud in the silence that It startled some awake. So that makes it a bit confusing. An weird popping sounds at night. The land just carried my rating everything else was ok or questionable. Park ranger was sighted but we didn't really speak to them besides asking a question. Seemed like a soild reasonable human.

Great location numerous activities. Lake, river and trails good for short family hikes. Campground sites are generally large with adequate privacy. Basically no cell service and a bit too close to the Hwy. Clear Lake is only a couple miles West with many activities. Hiking Round Mountain and exploring rivers and waterfalls

Nice sites. Pay attention to how they describe them on the website. Be aware, there directions are bad. Google got us there. Low water, limited boat ramps.

We stayed in a tent site and this is one of my new favorite campgrounds. What a fun beach area and an excellent swimming area. There’s a store/restaurant and huge ice cream. This isn’t a place to go for quiet, but it is a fun place for recreation. The beach offered great views for Milky Way photography in the evening.
