It is a truly rustic experience, designed for travelers who prioritize nature and tranquility over modern resort luxuries. Surrounded by towering trees and mountain air, it serves as a perfect base camp for exploring the high country of the Methow Valley.

Location & Surroundings

This campground is situated at an elevation of approximately 4,000 feet along Highway 20. The landscape is characterized by dense stands of Douglas fir, larch, and pine trees, which create a secluded and private atmosphere for each campsite. The surrounding terrain is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, featuring rolling hills and dramatic mountain ridges. Being located between Twisp and Okanogan, the park offers a serene mountain pass setting that feels worlds away from the hustle of urban life.

  • Vault toilets located conveniently throughout the camping loops.
  • Hand-pumped potable water available seasonally for guest use.

Who This Park Is Best For

Loup Loup is ideal for self-contained RV travelers who enjoy dry camping and off-the-grid living. Because of the winding mountain roads and specific site dimensions, it is best suited for small to mid-sized rigs and camper vans. If you are a photographer, wildlife watcher, or someone who simply wants to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the wilderness, this campground will fit your travel style perfectly. It is a haven for those who value solitude and stars over high-speed Wi-Fi.

Really enjoyed the time we spent here. Both husband and I were taken back by the old school customer care we received here. I also love my jacket and he hasn’t taken off his Hot Wax shirt, lol.

The store owner spent a ridiculous amount of time with us even though we were from out of town and likely not buying ski equipment. But he patiently answered all our questions and was just incredibly considerate. I literally found some stuff to buy (shirt and jacket), just to reward such rare and patient salesmanship/service!

We came in looking to buy snowpants today. There were two women working the store. One would not leave me alone. I said we are in for a hockey tournament and looking for some warm snow pants. After being shown where the snow pants were, she was CONSTANTLY asking questions and directing me on my shopping. She was always standing behind me too. I went to try them on, still talking. Not only was it distracting me from actually finding what I wanted to buy, but it was incredibly annoying. There's being helpful and friendly, then there's been a busy body. I went to a different section of the store, thinking I'd look for some snow gear for my son too. She says "You're in the kids section now." Like I'm doing something wrong by looking there. So I hung up what I planned to purchase, and started to walk out. She says "I guess you chose to be cold then." I've never experienced anything quite like this. Store owner, she's the reason I didn't spend $300 on snow gear today. She's rude and drives customers out of your store.

Ron, Kim and Dustin went out of their way to help me out purchasing a new snowboard from out of state. They were so kind and helpful, and their communication about my purchase was absolutely top notch! Would highly recommend doing business with them, such amazing folks! Also, couldn’t be more stoked on the board!

Incredibly amazing experience renting from these folks. They were so sweet and accommodating for everything that we needed and asked about. We wanted to switch from XC skis to snowshoes after 2 days and they were more than happy to help fit us for those and gave us personalized recommendations on locations to ski and snowshoe. Best service! Great prices! Lovely people! Will go here every time! Thanks guys!
