Overview
Old West RV Park offers a quiet and welcoming atmosphere for travelers navigating the rugged landscapes of southeastern Utah. It is a well-maintained space that prioritizes the essentials of a comfortable stay while keeping guests close to nature.
Location & Surroundings
Situated directly in the heart of Monticello, the park sits at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet, offering cooler summer temperatures than the nearby desert floor of Moab. You are within walking distance of local groceries and small-town eateries, yet the park remains shielded from the main road's bustle. The backdrop includes the Abajo Mountains, providing scenic vistas and a refreshing mountain breeze during the evening hours.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is designed for functionality and ease of use, featuring full hookup sites equipped with both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Long pull-through sites are available to accommodate larger rigs, making the setup process straightforward for big-rig owners. Guests have access to essential facilities, including clean restrooms and showers, as well as on-site laundry equipment. Reliable Wi-Fi is provided throughout the grounds, ensuring you stay connected while enjoying the rustic charm of this high-desert plateau retreat.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Monticello is the perfect gateway for outdoor enthusiasts looking to avoid the crowds of busier hubs. The park is a short drive from the Needles District of Canyonlands, where you can explore intricate rock formations and ancient petroglyphs. Other nearby treasures include the prehistoric art at Newspaper Rock and the vast expanses of Bears Ears National Monument. For those seeking alpine adventures, the nearby Manti-La Sal National Forest offers excellent opportunities for hiking, fishing, and scenic drives through dense pine forests.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for self-sufficient RVers who prefer a quiet, no-frills environment while exploring the Four Corners region. It is a great choice for families and solo travelers who want to escape the high prices and congestion of Moab while remaining close to major attractions. If you value easy highway access and a functional layout for a multi-night stay or a quick overnight stop, Old West RV Park provides the perfect balance of convenience and mountain-town tranquility.

Jim and Judi and so incredibly awesome! We landed here this evening and had a spot for our rental camper van…snow could happen and since no real hear in our 2012 rental van, I asked about if we could upgrade to a cabin room. We did and so grateful!! Jim and Judi both are so nice and accommodating.

The first hook up over night experience in our RV. We missed our scheduled night due to a blow out 1.5 hours away. Had to stay that night at Loves. But they honored our first night by letting us stay the following night while we waited for new tires to arrive ! So kind and generous. Loved our stay! Peaceful surroundings !

I really like this place. It is small, but well kept. It has a remarkably good dog park relative to the overall size of the RV park itself. Really well built, no escape holes. Water pressure is wonderful and the internet is pretty good, but since it doesn’t have a TON of people hogging it, it stays good. Owners are really nice folks. We’d definitely come back.

Smaller park but nice. It is very obvious the new management is making upgrades. The amount of new gravel is crazy, in a good way. The French around the park is also nice and new. They are adding tent sites. All in all it is being totally revamped. Downsides? The entrance and exit are a bit rough still, my middle Jack drug just a tad but all the new gravel meant no damage. Other downside is that for an overnight stay I thought it was a bit high price. I used electric only. No water or septic. Then again, all these upgrades are not free. Hard balance for the new management to figure out.

This is a very quiet and clean little RV park. And the new owner is improving it with more camping opportunities. Plus they have a few very small cabins to rent. Laundry room is very small only one washer and one dryer. Shower rooms are very clean. And the new owner is a very nice person.

Great place, quiet, and clean RV park. I will be back, can’t beat the price. Has clean shower/bathrooms, and good washer and dryer. Recommend to anyone traveling through. I was there for three weeks, owner was friendly and made you feel welcomed.

This park is under new management. It has lost its friendly appeal. Prices are up, homey feeling gone

What a cute little park and a delightful surprise on our way north to Moab . We drove by, turned around and rolled in without reservations. Esther greeted me on the porch with a big smile and checked us in no problems. Jim the owner showed us to our spot, chatted and offered up Dougs Steak and BBQ as a recommendation for dinner. YUMMEE. We had intended to roll through Monticello without stopping but boy howdy are we glad we stopped. Great little spot and highly recommend it. Friendly, level, clean, quiet.
