Overview
Outdoor Resorts of Chokoloskee is a premier destination for those seeking a tranquil escape in the heart of Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands. This well-maintained resort functions as a condominium-style RV park, offering a sense of community that differs from transient campgrounds. The layout is designed to maximize the beautiful waterfront views, providing a peaceful environment where the rhythm of the tides dictates the pace of your day. It is an ideal spot for snowbirds and nature enthusiasts looking for a long-term retreat.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the remote village of Chokoloskee, the park serves as a gateway to the Everglades National Park. The geography here is dominated by mangroves and winding waterways, creating a unique coastal landscape. While the location is relatively isolated, this remoteness is exactly its charm. Visitors find themselves surrounded by undisturbed nature, offering a rare opportunity to disconnect from the noise of modern life and fully immerse themselves in a quiet, semi-tropical island setting.
Amenities & Park Features
The resort provides a comprehensive suite of amenities tailored to the needs of long-term RV travelers. Residents enjoy access to heated swimming pools and spa areas, perfect for winding down after a day on the water. The park is equipped with laundry facilities, a community clubhouse for social gatherings, and a ship store. The grounds are meticulously kept, ensuring that every site maintains a high standard of quality for both Class A motorhomes and fifth-wheel setups.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
For outdoor lovers, the primary draw is the proximity to some of the best backcountry fishing in Florida. Boat ramps located directly within or near the park allow for easy access to the Gulf of Mexico and the vast mangrove wilderness. Birdwatching is another popular activity, as the region is a haven for migratory species. Exploring the historic Smallwood Store offers a fascinating glimpse into the area's pioneer heritage and the unique history of the Chokoloskee island itself.
Who This Park Is Best For
Outdoor Resorts of Chokoloskee is best suited for anglers, boaters, and nature lovers who prioritize a quiet atmosphere over bustling activities. It is perfect for those who enjoy the RV resort lifestyle and plan to stay for an extended season. If you are looking for a base camp to explore the Florida Everglades or simply want to spend your afternoons casting a line in pristine waters, this peaceful coastal retreat is an excellent choice for your travel itinerary.

Me and my brother have been coming down here for years now and this place is amazing. I am like a kid again when we gone down there. Great locals and the fishing is absolutely the best in florida.

This place is NOT pet friendly. They expect you the walk your dog on hot black top roads to walk you pet to the road outside the park. The hot tubs and one pool is currently shut down by the Florida Department of Health. Pickle Ball courts ate only available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday even though they are empty. Here is the kicker about the place. The place currently has 30 of its site up for sale, which is about 20% and they are not moving. Would not recommend this place. Please look for other options.

This was such a great find!!! We definitely want to come back. The RV site was perfect, the pool was warm enough to enjoy every day, and the hot tubs had plenty of room. The deck was huge, and I couldn't imagine a better place to spend New Years Eve!!! The entire place was very well maintained! We are spoiled for life!!!

$25 launch fee to launch your boat. Cash or credit. You are minutes away from the fishing the Everglades. Only one ramp so if you go at busy times you will have to wait a bit. I've stayed here before. The rooms are efficient no frills. Great location if you are a fisherman. Not luxurious but you wake up right next to the water.

Beautiful resort, many owners maintain their sites with pride. Beautiful water and sunset views. My site in particular, site 248, was ideally located in a corner with wide views of the water. Not well maintained though, the 30 amp outlet did not work, luckily, the 50 amp did. Most electrical outlets and lights were damaged with exposed wiring. Water spout leaked, spraying water all around, and it's next to electrical panel. I ended up using a landscaping water supply farther away. Cable didn't work either, maybe not included. For $135+ a night, everything should have been perfect. Great restaurant across the street, (Havana Cafe) with live music, be prepared to wait.

Have only used the marina facility / boat ramp. Good ramp with lots of dock space. Quickest spot to the back country of Everglades National Park.
