Park's Ferry Park (Georgia Power)
Overview
Park's Ferry Park is a scenic recreational destination managed by Georgia Power, nestled along the expansive shores of Lake Oconee. This park offers a tranquil escape for RVers who appreciate a balance of natural beauty and essential comforts. Unlike high-traffic commercial resorts, it provides a peaceful lakeside atmosphere where the focus remains on the surrounding environment and the gentle pace of life on the water. It is a well-maintained space that highlights the best of middle Georgia's aquatic landscapes.
Location & Surroundings
Located in the historic town of Greensboro, GA, the park is situated on the eastern shores of Lake Oconee, Georgia's second-largest lake. The surroundings are characterized by dense pine and hardwood forests that provide ample shade for many of the campsites. The area is known for its rolling hills and calm waters, offering a picturesque backdrop for morning coffee or sunset walks along the shoreline. Its location provides a secluded feel while remaining accessible to local conveniences.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is well-equipped for RV travelers with sites that feature water and electrical hookups. Visitors have access to clean bathhouses with hot showers and laundry facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay for short-term or extended visits. For those bringing watercraft, the on-site boat ramps provide easy access to the lake for a day of exploration. Additional features include a dedicated swimming beach, a playground for children, and designated picnic areas with fire rings for evening gatherings under the stars.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Fishing is a primary draw here, as Lake Oconee is famous for its largemouth bass and crappie populations. Beyond the park, travelers can explore the charm of downtown Greensboro, which features unique antique shops and local eateries. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to world-class golf courses in the surrounding Oconee area. For those seeking more outdoor adventure, the Oconee National Forest is nearby, offering miles of hiking and birdwatching opportunities.
Who This Park Is Best For
Park's Ferry Park is ideal for families and outdoor enthusiasts who prefer a rustic, nature-centric camping experience over a high-density resort. It specifically appeals to anglers looking for convenient lake access and RVers who want a quiet home base while exploring the Greensboro region. If you value privacy, tree-lined sites, and direct waterfront views, this park fits your travel style perfectly, providing a classic Georgia camping experience.

We only camped here one night! Great find! Water/ electric sites- our site was very level that we didn't even unhook camper from truck. Very clean park! Restrooms maintained. They have Boat ramp, beach & laundry room. We would stay longer if in the area again. Hosts were super friendly & helpful. Very shaded sites & most appeared very level

Beautiful site and spacious activity area. The only downside is that I-20 is only about a mile away and some traffic noise can be heard at night.

We camped in site 2, enjoyed being near the restroom building plus playground. Loved that laundry was free (no quarters needed) but definitely missed no wash sinks. Being a lakeside campground, all suits are going to need a good rinsing from muddy water. There are tents sites, too. Curious what those tent campers did for washing dishes if they forgot a dish pan. Bathrooms/showers were very nice/almost brand new with lots of towel hooks, benches and hot water. Hand soaps in most bathrooms stayed empty the whole holiday weekend. Beach and fishing docks were great! In future visit, I'd probably pick site 1 (better lake view) or site 51 (lakeside).

Can't wait to go back! The RV site fee included electric & water hook up, dump station, and use of public bathroom with laundry. Very well kept area.

The camp host were great folks. Camping sites were very nice and easy to back into. Kayaking on the lake was easy to access from the boat ramp.

Beautiful, forested State Park located on a reservoir lake, with a boat ramp. Clean bathrooms and laundry areas,(2 located, 1 at each end). Nice playground! Just wish I had a boat!!

This really could be a great place if they'd take a little time and clean things up a bit. Needs some regular maintenance and upkeep to make this place a real winner. Seemed like everything was closed or in the middle of being renovated. Not terrible, but not great.
