Peter D's RV Park
Overview
Peter D’s RV Park is a family-owned destination in Sheridan that prides itself on providing a meticulously maintained environment for travelers. Situated in the heart of the Bighorn Mountain foothills, it offers a peaceful retreat with professional management and a welcoming atmosphere. The park is well-regarded for its paved interior roads and level sites, ensuring that your arrival and setup are as smooth as possible after a long day of driving through the Wyoming landscape.
Location & Surroundings
The park’s location is one of its strongest assets, offering convenient access to Interstate 90 while remaining remarkably quiet and removed from highway noise. It sits within walking distance of downtown Sheridan, allowing guests to explore local culture without always needing to unhook their tow vehicle. You will find yourself surrounded by stunning mountain vistas, providing a classic Wyoming backdrop that transitions beautifully from the golden hours of sunset into clear, starry nights.
Amenities & Park Features
Designed with the modern RVer in mind, the park features spacious pull-thru sites that can easily accommodate the largest big rigs and their slides. Each site offers full hookups, including 30 and 50-amp electricity and well-placed utility connections. Guests frequently highlight the exceptionally clean laundry facilities and private shower suites. Additionally, the park provides manicured green spaces and reliable Wi-Fi, making it a comfortable home base for both overnight stops and multi-day stays.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Just minutes away, you can immerse yourself in the western history of Main Street Sheridan, home to the world-famous King’s Saddlery and Museum. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the short drive to the Bighorn National Forest, where hiking, fishing, and scenic drives await throughout the canyon. For a touch of local history, the Trail End State Historic Site offers a glimpse into the region’s ranching past through its beautifully preserved mansion and grounds.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for big-rig owners who value ease of navigation and wide, level parking surfaces. It is also a perfect fit for travelers who enjoy urban convenience combined with outdoor access, as the proximity to downtown dining and shopping is a rare find for RVers. If you prefer a well-organized, quiet, and exceptionally clean environment over a crowded resort atmosphere, Peter D's will suit your travel style perfectly.

Nice well kept clean campground very close to everything in Sheridan. Peter is delightful with a joke or two and always a wave from his truck when leaving or coming. We definitely will stay here again .

We absolutely loved this campground and it's owners!! Very polite and professional. Gave us lots of places and ideas to visit during our stay. We were given his card to take to the Wyo Rib and Chop Restaurant for a free order of fried green tomatoes with crab meat which were great! We will definitely make this a future stop next time we come out this way again.

Such a perfect stop. Wish we could have stayed longer. Mr. Peter was fun to talk with and Mrs. Peter has a great veggie garden that she shared some of her bounty! Cleanest bath and laundry rooms ever!! Perfectly located for the historic town, modern Walmart and easy on and off access to the highway! I’d give 10 stars if I could!

This is a hidden gem! Easy on and off to the highway. Mr D is friendly and wanted to make sure we were happy. Well we are! 😊 This campground is awesome! The price is VERY awesome. The sites are all gravel pull through and quite level. The whole property is very clean and well maintained and welcoming. There’s even a beautiful garden in the median near the pristine and new bath/shower/laundry house. WiFi and cell service are there! Thank you! See you next time!

This is one of those places she hesitate to review. Because you know you’re going to give it excellent ratings, but you don’t want everybody else to find it because then you won’t be able to get in next time you want to. We’ve stayed here a number of times. Peter is a character. He always has a fun story, joke, or helpful hint to tell you. Barb is a wonderful, efficient, friendly person. The cups are perfect, the amenities are plentiful, including laundry, room showers, and WHITE Rhodes,. The place is always clean and all taken care of.

Stayed here on our way home from Glacier. Probably the cleanest laundry and shower/restrooms we have seen. Peter and Barb, the owners are friendly and accommodating. Barb even had fresh veggies from her garden to give to the campers. This RV Park is conveniently located right off of I-90 (but still quiet), all sites are pull-thru, have full hookups, and very reasonably priced. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Peter and Barb. 😊

Peter D, the owner and the sweet lady in the office make this park worth staying at. Full hook ups worked great. Good location. Park very clean. Laundry very clean and nice. Large pull through sites. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was no shade at all and it was very hot. Sites are close together but that seems to be the norm. She has a sweet veggie garden and gives you free veggies and has home canned goodies for sale Super friendly and accommodating.

We stayed 8 days the end of July 2021 & enjoyed our visit. Close to I-90 but "very" quiet. You'll never find a cleaner laundry room & Restroom/shower facilities. No matter what time of day I used them they were always clean as a whistle. Campground is close to downtown & shopping. Took a day trip to Big Horn National Forest & saw Shell Falls. Well worth the trip. A must see is Kings Saddlery Museum, directly behind the storefront. I'm not into cowboys & western things but the museum was amazing. Barbara (co-owner) has a garden within the campground & shares with campers if you go to the office. The sites are a little close but we really didn't mind.

Very nice, neat, tidy. Best restrooms and showers ever

Clean, warm bathrooms, always making sure everything is ok. I'm going back when I go through again
