Port of Tillamook Bay RV Park
Overview
Port of Tillamook Bay RV Park offers a unique staying experience on the grounds of a former World War II Naval Air Station. This facility provides a practical and reliable home base for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of the Northern Oregon Coast. Unlike dense, wooded campgrounds, this park features an open layout that allows for easy maneuvering and a clear view of the surrounding coastal mountains. It is a place where aviation history meets modern RV convenience for visitors of all kinds.
Location & Surroundings
Situated just a few miles south of downtown Tillamook, the park is located within the Port of Tillamook Bay industrial complex. The most striking feature of the surroundings is the massive wooden blimp hangar that now houses the Tillamook Air Museum. Because the park is built on former military grounds, the terrain is exceptionally flat and consists of gravel or paved surfaces. This makes it ideal for those who prefer stable ground and unobstructed sky views for satellite reception or stargazing.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is well-equipped to handle various types of travelers, from weekenders to long-term coastal explorers. It features full hookup sites that include water, sewer, and both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. For those traveling in larger motorhomes or fifth wheels, the wide pull-through sites ensure a stress-free setup process without the worry of tight turns. Essential facilities are available on-site, including a laundry room, clean restrooms, and shower facilities to keep your journey comfortable and convenient.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Guests are perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of the Tillamook region. A short drive leads to the world-famous Tillamook Creamery, where you can tour the production floor and sample local cheeses. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the Three Capes Scenic Route, featuring the historic Cape Meares Lighthouse and breathtaking ocean cliffs. Additionally, the area is a premier destination for fishing, crabbing, and kayaking in the various nearby bays and rivers that define the local landscape.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for travelers who prioritize location and accessibility over a rustic forest atmosphere. It is particularly well-suited for big-rig owners who need the space to park comfortably without navigating narrow, tree-lined roads. History enthusiasts and aviation fans will love being within walking distance of local museums. Overall, it serves as an excellent, functional home base for those who want to explore the Oregon Coast while staying in a tidy and open environment.

If you’re looking for a quick stop at a clean, spacious place—or even large rigs—without hookups, this is your spot. It’s set away from the main road and quiet. No hookups.

Fun stay for watching small planes coming and going from the neighboring airport. Super close to the Air Museum which is worth a visit. No amenities here but it’s quiet with plenty of room to spread out.

Quiet and spacious. $20 a night is awesome these days. No hookups but there is potable water and clean restroom and place to dispose of trash. Beautifully green this time of year June 2025.

We stayed one night in our Skoolie. Simple, clean, super quiet, good space and great bathrooms. We didn't see any hosts, there were 7 cop cars dealing with a few other campers when we pulled up but we didn't hear any issues the rest of the night. If the hosts see this, we found a key for the CAT machines doing construction and put it in the drop box for fees. Thanks for the stay.

If you are into basics and not looking for a campground that has "resort" embedded in the name, this place might be for you. If you are looking to stretch your dollars this place might be for you. This campground is not going to suit everyone's fancy, but it certainly did mine. For $15/ night you get a designated site that you get to pick from the ones available. You get a graveled site that is level with plenty of space between you and your neighbors. You get water fill stations and clean bathrooms with flush toilets. No dump station. A dumpster is available for your trash. By my count there are 30 RV sites and a section for tent camping. You are camping right beside a sleepy little airport that has a few small aircraft leaving and arriving. The highway noise from U.S. Hwy 101 can be heard off in the distance. The highway is 2/10 of a mile away. This is heaven for campers that are looking for maximum sun for their solar panels. Not many sites have any shade. A camp host is on site. When you arrive pick out a site then proceed to the RV Office building near the airport gate. There are envelopes there to put your cash in. Have exact change. Cash only. No checks. Note: Tillamook Creamy buys 1.6 million gallons of milk DAILY from the local farmers. You might get a whiff of that milk being made, if you catch my drift. Be sure to check out the Air Museum before you leave.

We stayed here for a week and we loved it! Big spots with lots of grass. They’re dog friendly also!

Great quiet park. Tony and Beth are awesome park hosts!

Nice little park. No hookups. Very quiet when we were there. I think their old price of $10 would be more reasonable than the current $15 but not complaining.

Hidden over night Gem. This is a very nice little park for a weekend if you want to explore the Tillamook area. The are no hook ups but the park has two water spigots. The sites are large and fairly level. The cost per night is $15. It is right off Hwy 101, but not visible, do not go towards the Air Museum in search of the park It loss a star because the bathrooms are out of the way, and it is not easy to find.
