This was our 1st stay at Potlatch State Park. For us it was very underwhelming with deteriorating infrastructure, as can be seen in the pics. The loop that we stayed in was 1/5 of a mile around, contained 27 sites, that were too close together and with little to no privacy. The bathrooms were mostly clean but dated and worn. Many of the reviews rave about the beach view but it was no better than most views of the Puget Sound. Not sure we would stay here again. The best parts were free hot showers and it was quiet at night.

We camped at Potlatch State Park for a weekend and had a fantastic time! The campground was clean, quiet, and well-maintained, with easy access to both the forest and the water. The sites offered a good mix of privacy and space, and the park staff were friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful right along Hood Canal which makes it great for relaxing by the water, kayaking, or just enjoying the views. There are also plenty of hiking opportunities nearby, and the sunsets over the canal were absolutely worth the trip. Everything felt safe, family-friendly, and well-kept, which made for a stress-free stay. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already planned another trip back next month. Definitely recommend this park for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful weekend outdoors!

I come here all the time, swim and paddleboard daily, I love it! One of my favorites on Hood canal!!❤️ I live to swim with the seals and they are plentiful! You'll see porpoise, as well, and occasionally Orcas!! It sits on Skokimish tribal land and we had the honor of seeing the canoes practice for the Tribal Canoe Journey!🥰 Parking is plentiful, lots of grassy area and shoreline! A nice little cove, lots of marine life! Quiet even when people are there, picnic tables, very chill park, no crazies!😄 Crystal clear water, beautiful views, friendly seals, just perfect!❤️

I haven’t been clam digging for 10 years and decided to go with my friend and his daughter. I was able to harvest 40 clams I believe you also can harvest 15 oysters, but you need to shuck the oysters there and leave the shell. This place is set up for a barbecuing so you can cook these on site. There is a huge patch of grass so it’s very dog friendly and family picnic friendly. Buy a tool so you can check to see if you are harvesting the proper size clams.

Really awesome little spot! You get a great view of the sound, and there's lots of lively creatures on the beach. We found crabs, snails, clams, shrimps, and other small animals during our short visit. You also get to see the cascades in the distance here too! Lots of picnic benches available and green grass to sit in. Something to note is that the public restrooms are down indefinitely due to the land conditions, however there are about 4-5 porta-potties available where the restrooms are and one is larger for disabled folks. Would recommend stopping by if you're passing by.
