Raptor Ranch RV Park & Campground
Overview
Raptor Ranch RV Park & Campground offers a unique blend of Arizona history and avian conservation just outside the Grand Canyon. Known for its quirky atmosphere, this destination features the nostalgic Bedrock City attraction and an impressive birds of prey program. It serves as a practical and entertaining basecamp for travelers who appreciate a mix of roadside Americana and educational wildlife experiences while exploring the high desert plains.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Valle, Arizona, at the junction of State Route 64 and Highway 180, the park provides a strategic location roughly thirty miles south of the Grand Canyon National Park entrance. The landscape is characterized by wide-open plains and the distant silhouette of the San Francisco Peaks. Because it is set away from the crowded corridor of Tusayan, guests enjoy expansive desert views and clear night skies that are truly perfect for stargazing after sunset.
Amenities & Park Features
The park caters to various rigs with full-hookup RV sites offering both 30 and 50-amp service to keep your coach comfortable. Travelers will find essential facilities including a dedicated laundry room, clean restrooms, and a well-stocked gift shop. A major highlight is the Birds of Prey show, where guests can see raptors in flight during scheduled demonstrations. For convenience, the on-site Fred’s Diner serves up classic comfort food and espresso drinks throughout the day.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw is the Grand Canyon South Rim, accessible via a short and easy scenic drive north from the campground. Visitors can also explore the historic town of Williams, located thirty minutes south, to experience Route 66 heritage and the Grand Canyon Railway. On-site, families often spend hours walking through the stone-age themed park, providing a playful and nostalgic contrast to the natural wonders of northern Arizona’s volcanic fields and ponderosa pine forests.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for families with children who will love the whimsical theme park and interactive bird demonstrations. It also appeals to road-trippers seeking a convenient stopover that avoids the higher prices and crowds found directly inside the national park boundaries. If you enjoy unique, independent campgrounds with a distinct personality rather than corporate resorts, this quirky Arizona roadside gem is a perfect fit for your next desert adventure.

It was so awesome to be able to be a part of going here🖤🖤 Ash was very informative and attentive. We went right after it snowed, so some of the raptors didn't want to be out in that cold, but it allowed a more personal experience. We loved Stinky, Fred, Barney, and Benny 🖤🖤🖤 the Flintstones theme is cool as well. We don't have kids, so we were trying to use the "way back nastagia" machine lol we're 100% going back and interacting every time we're in that area. Thank you Raptor Ranch🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

A highlight of our Rv vacation. Rv park is between Rt66 and the Grand Canyon, but also offers a variety of attractions as well. Raptor ranch, Flintstones Amusement Park with easy in and out. Staff was courteous and always available while keeping this one of a kind family oriented a joy for all ages. Our stay included an Arizona Super Harvest Moon to boot! Happy to return in the future.

Flintstone Village: my parents used to take us here when we were kids. This had to be at least over 50 years ago. We would stop here on our way to the Grand Canyon. The cost is $10 per person, it’s lower for kids. They have added goats/Lamas to feed for an additional $1.00. Even if you didn’t grow up knowing anything about the Flintstones, I think your children would love it. We were there on Oct 1st and the weather was perfect. It brought back so much memories being there. Knowing that my parents took us there and now our kids and our kid’s kids. You can sit on one of the many picnic benches and just let the kids run around. It’s a safe place and you can see them wherever they’re at in the park.

What a fun stop! The location is geared towards children but my husband and I enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Set up like Bedrock from The Flintstones cartoon with many houses and other buildings featured in the show. A great stop for the family with loads of hands on fun for the kids, young and old!

We stopped by the ranch on the way to the Grand Canyon. Pretty neat to visit Raptor Ranch at least once. Fun for the kids and us adults that have watched the Flinstones! Entrance fee is charged reasonably. You can feed alpacas, goats, and sheep.

Honestly, we expected to make a quick stop and thought it would be just a basic walk around, but we ended up spending a lot more time and had a blast. We were pleasantly surprised. The basic structures are there, you can see where work is being done to renovate them. There are a ton of photo opportunities. They also have activities for children, including goats and alpaca you can feed (food at cashier) and pet. There is also a little playground. The neatest part for us was having the opportunity to see a falcon fly (Thank you again!). Make sure to ask. There is food on site as well. Definitely worth a stop.

I had a great time I eat at the little restaurant. Walked around outside $10 to get in kids under 3 free. They had goats you could pet and several different types of birds. They had a band playing when I was there. Friendly atmosphere.

Wow! What an amazing experience!! From check in, all the way to when we were leaving. Just an awesome day that I will never forget. The entire staff was so friendly, helpful & polite. Troy was our Falconer, very knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and seemed to be having as much fun as we were. After the experience with the raptors, we explored Bedrock City (I hadn’t been there since I was a kid), and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Fred’s Diner. I will be talking about this experience for the rest of my life. If you love birds of prey, and have always dreamed of holding some…..THIS IS THE EXPERIENCE FOR YOU. Or even if you just love experiencing new things & love animals/birds. Thank you to everyone for making a lifetime dream come true.

This was probably one of the best things I’ve done. All the staff was absolutely wonderful and meeting the birds was amazing. Each one was so well trained and such pretty animals. I would do it over and over again if given the opportunity.
