Overview
Rohr's Wilderness Tours offers a peaceful escape into the heart of the Wisconsin Northwoods. This family-owned destination in Conover focuses on providing a genuine outdoor experience rather than a high-traffic resort atmosphere. Tucked away in Conover, WI, the park is surrounded by the vast timberlands and pristine water systems of Vilas County. The location is defined by its proximity to the headwaters of the Wisconsin River, offering a tranquil backdrop for any camping trip. The quiet environment makes it easy to disconnect from the stresses of daily life.

The park provides essential amenities designed to enhance the wilderness experience for RV travelers. Visitors will find sites equipped with electric hookups, ensuring a level of comfort while staying in a rustic environment. Each site typically includes a fire ring and picnic table for evening gatherings under the stars. The standout feature of the park is the on-site shuttle service and canoe rental shop, which makes exploring the river seamless and stress-free for guests of all skill levels. This focus on river recreation ensures that every guest has the tools they need for a successful day on the water.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor recreation is the primary draw for this area, with the Wisconsin River providing endless opportunities for paddling, birdwatching, and fishing. Anglers can spend their days searching for local species in the quiet eddies and bends of the river. Just a short drive away, travelers can explore the Eagle River Chain of Lakes or hit the extensive network of Vilas County hiking and biking trails. The region is a haven for wildlife viewing, with frequent sightings of bald eagles, blue herons, and white-tailed deer along the riverbanks.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal match for paddling enthusiasts and nature photographers who want to be steps away from the water. Amazing campsite! The owners are so down to earth and very pleasant to deal with. The area is so beautiful and peaceful. We definitely have found our home away from home. Definitely a spot to check out. They have nature walks (blueberry and raspberry picking) tubing and frisbee golfing. Bathrooms and showers available. A hidden gem in the Northwoods!

The owners, Jeff and Marcia are wonderful people, I'm fortunate to have stayed at their CG from 9-2-21 to 9-6-21. RWT Campground is like no other, it's a private campground that has the look, feel and atmosphere of a State Park. They had planned and executed a CG design that embraces the hills, rivers, and forest. I highly recommend RWT CG if your camping style is "off the beaten path" then RWT Campground is waiting for you. RWT has all the camping arrangements; from walk in tent sites overlooking the Wisconsin River, walk in forest canopy, to savanna style. For travel trailer and motorhome style there are electric, water, and sewer sites. The park has miles of hiking, biking, and cross country ski trails. Canoe & kayak rentals available for a paddle down the Wisconsin River, launched from the park.. Also for fun there is a Frisbee golf course too. This is NOT a complete review of all the features and amenities offered by RWT CG, just a short list as experienced personally.

I organized a canoeing trip with several cousins and spouses through Rohr’s Wilderness Tours, and they were spectacular, both in training up first time canoers and accommodating the group to make sure the trip was a memorable one. The owners made all the difference and you can tell they truly have a passion for what they do and love helping others to enjoy the great outdoors with them!

Private campground located 12 miles to Wisconsin River headwaters waters. It started as a dream 30 years ago, took 10 years to complete 25 full hook up sites, with 20 drive through. It has dump station. Campground has River walk in dites, tent only sites and 5 km of well maintained hiking trails. Marcia and her husband offering shuttle service and renting kayaks as well.

Beautifully kept campground bordering on the upper Wisconsin River. I’m a tent camper who couldn’t have been happier with my quiet and secluded site. The extensive hiking/skiing trail system and 18 hole frisbee golf course are a nice bonus. And the location is very convenient to a lot of the natural attractions of northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Beautiful well kept grounds and good sized level full hook up sites. Owners were very friendly and helpful. We (my husband, 2 kids, 7 & 8, and I) stayed for 3 nights and 2 full days and enjoyed ourselves. We rented 2 person kayaks for 2hours and were given very thorough instructions since we were beginners. Beautiful river and even saw some wildlife. Plenty of lakes and ATV trails very close. Well kept walking trails and a frisbee golf course right on site, too. Thanks for a great get away!
