The Bates Motel RV
Update: We went back for another stay in 2025. It was even better. The seasonal people here are really friendly and we joined in on several of the events the campground and seasonals put on. Was super quiet again, clean, pools are nice and also super clean. Used the laundry which was $2 per load, very reasonable and the machines were well maintained. Booked again for 2026. This is now one of our go to places every year. We work from the RV and the wifi on site 80 was really fast! 2024 stay: We called last minute and they were able to get us in for a week long stay. This is very much a seasonal site place, which would usually keep us from going to it, but we found the campers here to be very friendly and the seasonal sites are well maintained and not falling apart. It's extremely quiet at night, even on the weekends. They have two well maintained pools, and onsite food and ice cream place, (open on weekends), and nice camp store. Close to downtown. They had bingo and a band while we were there, both alot of fun. There is no sewer, but they have a very easy to get to dump station. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back!

It is a decent family-owned campground. We have experienced 3 power outages, but it wasn't the campgrounds fault. They do pickup your garbage, but not always. They do not offer sewer and you have to pay extra to get your system drained. The people are nice. I do wish they offered more events, it gets boring during the week when they dont offer anything. Overall, if you're looking for a place to stay for the weekend, I'd reccomend it, but for long-term, there are better options. If you like bingo, choose here.

Family/friend group (14 families in total) have come to this campground for 10+ years, booking 2-3 weekends in a row. This past weekend was 1 of the multiple weekend stays, a “Karen” fellow neighbor camper complained about an incident and one family is now banned from the campground for life. No warning, no conversation, no second chance! 10+ years of business and support and this is what was given in return!!!!! To top it all off waited to call hours after checkout for the weekend and family had to go back to the campground to pull everything out BUT the real tip of the iceberg all power to the campsite was turned off and there was a fridge full of food!!! Also turned the water off while emptying the black tank! Thanks a lot to the KAREN who can’t mind their own business!!!

Wonderful place to stay. Our best vacation ever. We are new to campers and this place was wonderful you couldnt ask for friendlier people. I loved seeing all the kids on bikes with their friends. There was so much to do for everyone. You will not be disappointed staying here. The place is spotless. The owners take pride in their campground and it shows!!!! We cant wait to go back!!!!!

This is my daughters and I fifth year coming and every time we have the best time. The family that runs the campground is so welcoming and remembers me every year. Dj is great on Saturdays, they had a really fun glow party last night that every one cames up to be apart of.

One of the BEST CT Family Campgrounds we have stayed at. Stayed 2+ weeks. Had to add on days and they did everything to accommodate us. Gated entry an ABSOLUTE plus. 2 pools, clean and not very crowded most times. Corey, Missy, Theresa, and Kyla were helpful with questions I had about Salem area hiking. I found great trails. The store has lots of last minute items I forgot... Marshmallows, Chocolate and Grahams (lol) plus so much more. Just an all around nice campground.

This was our first trip here and we loved it so much that we are booked for next year Memorial Day Wknd. Very clean bathrooms. Having 2 very clean pools was wonderful! Along with all the activities that filled our wknd with our friends making memories to last a lifetime. Everyone here was so nice and welcoming. Thank you!

Safety is their top priority. Kids can, safely, ride bikes all over the campground as speed limits are strictly enforced. Wild and unsafe behavior results in removal. The family keeps a close watch on the camp/campers and, especially, kids. A safe and fun campground for all ages.
