Located in a lovely woody scenario, with well spaced sites, this place looses a star looses one star for the price and one star for maintenance level - according to the chart in the men's bathroom no one cleaned it for 6 days, and it showed. Also the jumping balloon was deflated. With a bit of effort they can do a lot better.

The people who works at KOA santa margarita are so friendly and accommodating. The place is so clean and our kids enjoyed the pool and jumper. I want to thank Ms Michelle booking us at the overflow site on a 3 days notice. She made it work for us. She is genuinely nice and has a happy personality. It shows to the other employees too. I will definitely come back here again with my family and with my motorcycle rider friends. This place is awesome ! 4A-4-D overflow site.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at KOA and it was an excellent experience. The campsite was incredibly spacious, providing plenty of room to set up comfortably and enjoy the natural surroundings without feeling cramped. The amenities were top-notch, making our stay even more enjoyable. Everything we needed was readily available, and it was clear that the facilities were well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. The staff at KOA were particularly impressive, always ready to assist with a friendly and helpful attitude. Whether we had questions about the area or needed help with campsite logistics, they were knowledgeable and eager to assist. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and am already looking forward to my next visit. I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a well-equipped, spacious, and welcoming place to enjoy the great outdoors.

Quiet, no road noise or bright lights. Showers, laundry, pool, dog park and camp store on-site. Very steep except at the bottom of the hill. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They were also able to accommodate an extended stay over what I had booked, due to trailer repairs. Cell and Internet can be spotty, but drive a quarter mile down the hill, park beneath the shade tree and you have an instant mobile office. The entire campground was spotless and fellow campers obeyed the speed limit and quiet hours. Lots of wildlife within the camp, turkeys, ground squirrels, deer, woodpeckers and more. A great place to relax and enjoy nature.

This place is absolutely stunning and their commitment to service above and beyond. I was coming back from a trip at Pinnacles National Park and was too tired to drive all the way back home, so I reached out and was able to book a site last minute. Karen, the owner, answered the call herself and was able to accommodate my last minute request. I definitely plan on stopping by at a later date.

Have visited many KOA's in my travels, id say this one is on my my top 5 best list. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I rented a five person yurt, it was excellent. Very nice and clean. Had electric inside and water just out the door. Short walk to the clean bathroom and shower. Great experience all around.

My family of four (plus our golden retriever pup) had a lovely stay at the Santa Margarita KOA! We stayed in a private yurt, which was very spacious and clean. The campground was extremely nice and had wonderful amenities for the kids (jumping pillow, playground, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, etc.). There was even an enclosed dog park, which our pup enjoyed. And the staff was amazing and super friendly. The site manager even went above-and-beyond and delivered a bag of ice after hours directly to our campsite! Needless to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit!

We booked this KOA because we had just been in another one, and loved it for the kids: activities, movie nights, treasure hunts… it was great! Unfortunately, this was nothing like that, and the website didn’t mention anywhere that all kid activities stop in winter. Also, when we booked, the website said there was only one campsite left (of that kind), but when we got there the campground was empty. The dumping stations at our campsite overflew so we couldn’t use it— the staff mentioned having a problem with the sewage system; even so, they asked for an extra 30$ to use the sani dump outside; when I refused to pay, they accepted (it then turned out the station outside didn’t work either!). Maybe it would be different in the summer, but after seeing the infrastructure, I wouldn’t choose it in the summer either. We were very disappointed with the whole experience. Had we known, we’d have chosen one of campgrounds just a couple hundred meters further down the road.
