Location & Surroundings
Located just a few miles south of Stanley, Idaho, the park is nestled on the northern edge of the shores of Redfish Lake. The surrounding landscape is dominated by the jagged, snow-dusted peaks of the Sawtooth Range, providing one of the most iconic views in the Pacific Northwest. At an elevation of roughly 6,500 feet, the air is remarkably clean and the climate remains comfortably cool even in the height of summer. The thick forest provides excellent privacy between sites, creating an intimate connection with the natural environment while keeping the vibrant lakefront within easy reach.

For those needing to service their tanks, a central dump station is located a short drive away within the recreation area, ensuring that dry campers can manage their needs conveniently during their stay.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The crown jewel of the area is undoubtedly Redfish Lake, offering endless opportunities for boating, paddleboarding, and swimming. A short distance away, the Redfish Lake Lodge provides boat rentals, a general store, and horseback riding excursions for the whole family. Hikers will find themselves at the doorstep of the Sawtooth Wilderness, with trailheads leading to hidden alpine lakes and high-mountain meadows. Additionally, the nearby Salmon River is a premier destination for whitewater rafting and world-class fly-fishing, ensuring there is never a shortage of outdoor adventures to pursue.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is best suited for nature-focused RVers who enjoy dry camping and value proximity to trailheads and water recreation. It is an ideal choice for families looking to disconnect from digital devices and spend their days exploring the great outdoors together. Arrived the Sunday of the snow storm this summer and was able to get a spot for 2 nights. Loved the campground and being able to hike right from camp. Ended up moving sites so I could stay 2 more nights! Denny the camp host was so friendly and helpful. She was a highlight of my summer!

The best camping spot we have ever had. Beautiful views, water access, shallow shore, soft sand!

Favorite campground at redfish lake. The camp hosts are wonderful, 20 years hosting. Seemingly impossible to get a reservation. We camp late August early September and after September 16th first come first serve. If the full campground sign is out, inquire as there maybe an open one night.

We love Redfish Area. We haven't been able to get a place at Outlet for 4 years. So, finally here and loving it!

Beautiful space, amazing views! Clean campground. We were here the first day it was open in May, so it was fairly deserted. Heaven on earth!

Redfish lake is beautiful! The lodge is amazing and the employees there are awesome! The outlet campground is in great condition. And believe it or not the bathrooms are descent. However, the camp host is a grumpy old man and not dog friendly. You can have dogs at the campground and there is a dog beach. The host made it very clear HE doesn't like dogs. We went by EVERY rule and respected all the regulations and he was just itching to find something wrong. It was annoying and harassment. He didn't even say good morning the next day. First words out of his mouth was "we have a problem". He just wanted to complain about a log that was sticking out about 4 inches of our fire pit. We were all standing around it and JUST WOKE UP. He was harrassing more than hosting. Again, beautiful, peaceful and fun place. Very clean but host is grumpy.
