Scenic Beach
Overview
Scenic Beach State Park offers a quintessentially Pacific Northwest experience along the pristine shores of the Hood Canal. Covering 88 acres, this park is widely celebrated for its stunning mountain vistas and lush, wooded campsites that provide a sense of seclusion. During the spring months, the landscape is transformed by blooming wild rhododendrons, creating a vibrant natural backdrop for every visitor. It is a destination that prioritizes the environment, offering a peaceful retreat away from the noise of urban life.
Location & Surroundings
Located on the western edge of the Kitsap Peninsula in Seabeck, WA, the park sits directly on the saltwater banks of the Hood Canal. The surrounding landscape is a beautiful blend of mature Douglas fir forests and a rocky, cobble-stone shoreline. This location provides a front-row seat to the Olympic Mountains, which tower over the water to the west. The drive into the park is scenic and quiet, winding through forest roads that immediately set a relaxed, vacation-ready tone.
Amenities & Park Features
The park features well-maintained campsites that can accommodate RVs up to 60 feet in length, though it is important to note that there are no utility hookups available on-site. Park facilities include clean restrooms with showers, a dump station, and multiple potable water stations. Visitors can enjoy several miles of accessible trails that lead down to the water or explore the historic Emel House and its surrounding gardens, which offer a unique touch of local history to the camping experience.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While the park is a primary draw for beachcombing and kayaking, the surrounding Seabeck area offers plenty to explore. Travelers can visit the historic Seabeck General Store for a bit of nostalgia and local supplies. For those seeking more modern conveniences, the city of Silverdale is just a short drive away with full shopping and dining options. Additionally, the park serves as an excellent base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula coastline and nearby hiking trails within the Kitsap region.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is the perfect fit for RVers who prefer a rustic, back-to-nature atmosphere over a commercial resort setting. It is an exceptional choice for families who love exploring tide pools and photographers looking to capture the sun setting behind the mountains. Because the sites are dry, it is best suited for those traveling in self-contained RV units or those who appreciate the simplicity of traditional camping in one of Washington’s most scenic coastal environments.

Peaceful and Serene if you can ever find yourself at the park alone. Gorgeous view. Small Beach but certainly affected by tides. Did not see any hiking trails if there are any but we did see places to camp.

Was fortunate enough to visit this beautiful place for a wedding. Nestled in sense trees, the place is beautiful. The property has gazebos, paths, well maintained landscaping. It was gorgeous!

I love that there are so many state parks to camp at and there’s always one close enough to you. This campground is only 36 miles from my house, not too close and not to far away. I went with my next door neighbor and her 3 children, they were in a tent and I was in my old truck camper. The kids had a great time, the plus was the playground close to our campsite. Also, the beach was fun. Haven’t been camping since 2022, so this was a treat. I mentioned the kids having fun, we two ladies had a good time too! Great place for a day trip, or spending the nights.

Very clean sites and bathrooms. All the sites are secluded off with trees and bushes making it feel really private. There’s parks for the kids to play in and beautiful trails that lead you to a rocky beach. And the showers are free! All around 10/10 spot.

Love this camp ground. The sites feel completely private. Tall trees and thick bushes. Just beautiful area. Bathrooms are clean. Trails are nice. Update: free showers but NO hot water. At all. Not even warm.
