Sequim Bay
Overview
Sequim Bay State Park is a 92-acre year-round marine camping park situated on the shores of the Olympic Peninsula. Known for being in the Olympic Rain Shadow, this destination typically experiences significantly less rainfall than its neighbors. It offers a calm, forested retreat where the woods meet the saltwater, providing a serene environment for RV travelers exploring the diverse landscapes of Washington State.
Location & Surroundings
The park is perfectly positioned along the protected waters of Sequim Bay, offering a mix of dense forest and shoreline views. It sits directly on the Olympic Discovery Trail, a multi-use path that connects the entire peninsula. Travelers will enjoy the proximity to the Olympic Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop to the calm, blue waters of the bay and the lush evergreen canopy overhead.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground offers a variety of sites, including several with partial hookups for water and electricity. Visitors have access to a functional dump station, clean restroom facilities, and showers. The park is highly regarded for its private boat launch and long pier, making it a favorite for those who enjoy crabbing or boating. Wooded sites provide a sense of seclusion and a traditional camping atmosphere for those with smaller to mid-sized rigs.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the park boundaries, guests can explore the famous Dungeness Spit or visit the nearby lavender farms that make Sequim a popular tourist destination. The park serves as an excellent base camp for day trips into the Olympic National Park, where rugged coastlines and alpine peaks await. On-site, you can enjoy birdwatching, hiking the local trails, or cycling along the scenic paved paths that traverse the region.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for nature lovers and families who prefer a rustic, state park experience over a commercial resort. It is a fantastic choice for boaters and kayakers looking for easy water access and a place to launch. Because of its location, it is also perfect for RVers who want to explore the Olympic Peninsula while staying in a quieter, more sheltered environment away from the Pacific winds.

A very nice state park. Campsites are taken care of and look great. I will say there is one small detractor - the proximity to Hwy 101.... hearing cars zoom past at 11:30 at night on their way home from the casino is fun. I enjoyed my evening there and will likely return... also, it was cool getting scolded by three different campers about having a fire in my propane fire pit. Instead of hating, bring over some beers and let's enjoy some gas powered camp fire!

I appreciate having the park right along the Olympic Discovery Trail. I had just biked in and even though my group had reserved spots there are biker/hiker sites right next to the trail. There are fire pits and tables at each campsite, however when I went there was a burn ban in effect. The trees are close enough for hammock sleeping as well. The only negative for others would be the road noisy as the Olympic highway runs right next to the park and so you'll want to have ear plugs or be blessed with the ability to sleep through road noisy.

Sequim Bay state park is a nice, safe, clean, and beautiful campground. Just be aware that it is very close to the road and can be noisy. If you are looking for a place near Sequim or the casino, this is the place. It was also very family-friendly and rhe camp site was clean and comfortable.

Perfect place to escape from any city, town or village. Surrounded by thousands of trees and wildlife. Full rv hook-ups only otherwise there are a lot of beautiful campsites with unheard of views of Canada and the majestic Straight of Juan De Fuca and Mt. Baker. Possibly the best campground anywhere . Bathrooms are decent and showers are free with plenty of hot water. Bring a mat for your feet in showers. There is also a tunnel that leads to the other side of highway 101 where there is a baseball field.

Visited Sequim bay state park during 4th July long weekends for camping. Camp is beautiful, very clean and well maintained. It has really beautiful views and a nice trail for hiking. The restrooms are super clean and had a separate stall for shower with hot water. Overall I am very happy with my experience and probably will visit in the future.
