Should be a great place to stay but this campground is really in need of TLC. It doesnt appear maintenence has been a priority for years. Paved sites have crumbling asphalt that makes footing dangerous. Steps down from pads to picnic tables are rotting wood creating serious hazards. Bath houses are locked & require a code (provided at checkin) to use them; bathhouse facilities are old and need updating. Water faucets at sites are likewise old, some barely usable. And unfortunately the Joro spiders are EVERYWHERE and a huge issue in campsites and hiking trails. Positives are: the beautiful views of Lake Lanier from most sites; Entrance has small 'store' that sells firewood and an ice machine; Life jacket loaners are available near the entrance also, by the swimming beach. During our October stay we had quite a few deer around our sites - they even ate a bouquet of flowers left on the picnic table overnight 😄

Great place to stay on the water. Had a little trouble with 2 campsites away. They were partying well past quite hour (10:00 pm). My wife had to call security at 12:30 am. Besides that, it was a good place to stay. We are already play to stay next November. Love that we could go to the other side of the lake to a great restaurant that had live music

016 grill has a pretty big hole in the base. We brought our own 'lumberjack grill' (what we call it), and it fit nicely over the fire pit. There's no outlet at the campsite. (No big, just a heads up.) There is an outlet in the bathroom just a little bit down the road. The bathroom is a little spidery, but that's to be expected and otherwise well kept. Wait a sec and the shower gets nicely warm! Our campsite didn't have great direct water access, but many do. We got there a little late on Friday and they emailed info and instructions and had everything we needed in a drop box! Fantastic service! We'll definitely be back!

At some point many years ago, this campground was probably a great place to stay. Now, it is a run down campground in much need of repairs to almost every campsite and all the roads. Of particular note, if you do not have a self contained RV (one with a bathroom and shower) you will have to endure the nastiest bathrooms and showers I have ever encountered. There was no attempt by management to clean any of the 4 or 5 restrooms in the park. They were covered with bugs, cobwebs, mold and mildew on the walls, and luke warm water. My skin crawled each time I had to use the restrooms. The only positive things were some of the views of the lake and lots of animals running around.

Stayed at a tent site with lake view. We were close to the entrance, which was the only site available for the weekend. We explored the campground and some of the other sites have MUCH better lake views. Shower/bathrooms need some attention as they are not the cleanest. Saw lots of deer that my son thought was the coolest thing.

Canceled our reservation for a unforseen family emergency and was 1 day out of the alloted time period. Everyone else does refunds with at least 48 hours notice. This place is a joke and much better camp grounds dont cost as much as this place and have much better cancelation/refund policies. Never again.

It was noisy during Easter weekend, but our campsite came with a nice private beach and kids enjoyed it the whole weekend. Sites are not very accessible, because of steep slope with old wooden stairs — all broken and barely holding together

I stayed at this campground for 2 weeks, and although the park and view of the lake were picturesque, the sites were very tight with little room for my truck. My biggest concern was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Since there was no sewer hookup and I was on an extended trip, I took advantage of the shower room to minimize needing to dump my tanks during my stay. Over the first few days, the shower and bathroom overall was filthy, but since I checked in on a Sunday, I assumed they were dirty from the weekend and would be attended to during the week. Sadly, that was not the case. I don't believe they cleaned or had trash removed during my entire stay. The exterior lights to the bathroom were off at night, posing a safety concern. I'm glad I had a chance to check out the park, but I wouldn't return or recommend it to friends. Hopefully, Margaritaville will implement the necessary improvements and updates to return this park to its glory.

Beautiful campground. The spaces are roomy. You do not feel like you are squeezed in next to your neighbor. Our spot faces the lake and is lovely. There is no sewer at any of the sites but there is a dump station.

Other than quote a few dead trees that need to be taken down for safety concerns, this spot was beautiful. Pretty quiet. Nice across from where we were to beach area and bathrooms. Not sure why the playground was taken down but that was a busy for the kids who were looking forward to the playground while we were there.
