Very nice park. Sites are spacious. It has a rustic look with modern amenities. The covered wagons add a nice touch. A short 2 minute walk to the river adds to the experience. My dogs loved the Bark Park which is totally suitable for small dogs, no opportunity for escape. My only complaint is walking up stairs to get to the laundry room but that’s because I have old knees!

Was just at Silver Thread Basecamp this month Sept. 2025. This was our 5th or 6th year to go to Southfork and we always stay at this camp ground. Shade trees, away from the hwy. and river view. This summer had to leave two weeks early as my husband was hospitalized with blood clots. Admitted into ICU in Pueblo. No refund or credit was offered. Yes policy say no refunds due to medical reasons. Just not sure if we will return to Silver Thread. I do see policy but also I see MEDICAL reason as in ICU as a pretty good reason Credit for next year should be offered.

We loved this campground! We looked at other campgrounds in the area but were so glad we stayed here because of the trees, great park host and spacious level sites! My parents stayed in the covered wagons and really enjoyed the nostalgia. The campground was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. South Fork has all your basic needs and within 3 miles of the campground! We will definitely be back.

We love this campground! It is so peaceful with great views and wonderful facilities. The sites are level, nice hookups and plenty of shade. The laundry facilities and shower house are very clean. The camp hosts (Ron, Liz, David and Jane) are so friendly and helpful. The campground is in a perfect location to get to South Fork, Creede, Del Norte and Monte Vista. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed in a covered wagon and it was so cute a cozy! The location is beautiful! It’s right on the river and we had a ton of fun tubing. Also near tons of outdoor fun - and they recommend a gorgeous paddle boarding spot. We had a great experience!

Absolutely loved our stay! The campground was spotless, and the riverfront spots were beautiful. The hosts—Ron, Liz, David, and his wife—were fantastic. While we were out, we had a water issue and David went above and beyond to fix it for us. Such a great experience overall—we’ve already booked our spot for next August!

I love this campground. The sites are comfortably spaced and our site was absolutely level. We were lucky enough to get on a river front site and the views are gorgeous. Ron escorted us to our side on a golf cart and was nice enough to cut down some branches so that our view would be perfect. Would definitely love to come back here.

We made reservations at silver threads a year ago in June and put down a 400 and something dollar deposit we came in today and we paid the rest of the months rent because we were going to stay a month and they did not have a spot big enough for us we have large trailers. They knew we had large trailers when we made the reservation. They could not accommodate us, but would not return our money so I am very, very angry and this place gets no stars from me and I don’t recommend anybody make a reservation there. This is a response to the owners response to me. Our trailer is 48 foot with a 10 foot porch, which they were quite well aware of when we made the reservation. The site they wanted to put us in was 40 feet long. You tell me how in the heck my trailer would’ve fit in a 40 footer. We might’ve got it in there, but we would be sticking out. We have a motorcycle and a truck and our porch which we like to let down so we can sit out and enjoy the views. We could not have done that. Also, we had reserved for a 50 amp and all that was was a 30 amp

Sorry, but I can't single out any one staff member to compliment. Every one of them went above and beyond to make each guest feel welcome and comfortable. The friendliness of the staff was also reflected in the cheerful attitudes of the other campers. Friendly dog breeds are welcome there, too. There are scenic surroundings, things to do in addition to just chilling out and there is a great little store filled with thoughtful but sometimes forgotten essentials.
