We stayed at this KOA this summer (2025). We found the bathrooms dirty (especially the showers) and used for storage. The Dump station had a massive puddle of dirty water (so we decided not to use it). We stay at KOA for the cleanliness and for access to their facilities. We contacted the owners about our complaint and asked for a refund. We got no response. We followed up again and got no response. I would not recommend this KOA because 1) they don't keep up with their facilities, and 2) they are unresponsive. Stay at the state parks up the road for a fraction of the price. They are clean, beautiful, and responsive.

Nice & scenic campground next to the Yampa River. The trees are very colorful at this time of the year. There’s a free shuttle which stops on this campground & takes you to downtown areas (for resto & shops). This place has padded sites with full hookups. There are cabins for rent, sites for tents and RVs, playground for kids, dog run, & a campground store. The sitting areas for grilling & campfires are padded with nice picnic tables & chairs. There are bathrooms & toilets near the registration area. There are only toilets in the upper campground area. Their staff are friendly and courteous. We’ll definitely comeback to this place again on our next visit.

Very busy campground with plenty to do for the kiddos located just outside of downtown Steamboat. Yampa river runs right through the grounds, offering a great place to swim, wade, or tube. The free Steamboat Springs bus stops at the front of the campground every 20 minutes to take you into town. The camp store has gifts, postcards, ice cream and even beer and wine. The only downside is that the people in the tent sites (along the river) must use the restrooms on the edges of the property and we’ve had at least a dozen different people cutting through our site. Grrrrrr. For this, I took off one star, but seriously, the office should be educating their guest of camping etiquette. We also booked one of the premium sites with patio, gas grill, fire pit, etc and unfortunately, the site looked like a construction zone with no explanation or apology for the inconvenience. The office staff was friendly and they did have a lot of activities (candle making, tie dye shirts, movies) available. Overall, a fun stay.

This was our second time staying at the Steamboat Springs KOA, and once again, it did not disappoint! Everything was just as we remembered—clean, well-maintained, and run by a friendly, attentive staff that really cares about the guest experience. One of our favorite things to do after long days on the bikes was to just lay and relax in the river—it’s the perfect way to recharge. We also loved the convenience of the gas grill setup for easy meals and had a great time winding down with a few rounds on the putt putt course. It’s such a peaceful, comfortable spot with all the little touches that make a stay feel special. We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend if you’re in the Steamboat area!

Excellent place to stay for a long time, a little expensive for our university budget but Laurie is always considerate and willing to help with anything needed, which is totally worth it. We stayed the entire winter season the last few years on the L101 and excellent service. The location is excellent, the bus stops right outside, so it's very easy to get to downtown or the resort.

It’s a fine enough KOA as far as amenities but their bathroom has a code on it so if you come after hours you can’t use the bathroom without bothering your fellow campers for the code or having to call an after hour number which they don’t answer. Also their staff is rude and if you are still packing everything up at checkout time they bother you until you leave. They also threaten to charge you for the next day if you don’t get out at 11 on the dot. It’s very rude and unprofessional. Not hospitable or welcoming I would avoid it and go to Yampa River State Park just down the road. It’s half the price and just as nice.

This is a great KOA no doubt. I love the river front cabins. However prices have increased and with 100 dollars a night on well kept cabins I would think a matress replacement each year wouldn't be to much to ask. It was awfully worn out and flat. Please do better. You could have been five star.

Great place to stay. Employees here are super helpful and friendly. Pet friendly and small dog park - these are must for our furbabies. Full hookups though WIFI sign not strong - could be the area or due to the fact the this was an extremely busy/full weekend for KOA. We have enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Bathrooms got super crowded. But the biggest issue was that I checked out at 10:55am and wanted to pay $45 to rent three bikes. The attendant said I couldn't do it because I couldn't park anywhere in the campground. An additional $45 for an hour of bike rental didn't get me an hour of parking. Disappointed kids and a dad scratching his head wondering why you would do that? Everything else was great. But they need bigger bathroom facilities for the number of campers. And why in the world would they not let someone rent bikes for one hour after they check out?

This is a very busy KOA but amazing if you have a family. Great views and a ton of things to do. Staff was incredible and longer hours then usual. If you like your bigger space and some peace and quite I wouldn't recommend here. Because of the high demand they use every last bit of the campground but because of this we were able to get a last minute reservation. River goes right thru the campground.
