Came for a 4 day stay and left our RV there as seasonal residents on their end of the year special for the following year. Aaron, Mike, and Jaime were absolutely amazing at accommodating us and finding us a spot to keep our RV for the remainder of this season. When we came up the following week, we noticed the electric was tripping our watchdog. I let them know in the morning and by the afternoon we had electricians on our site. The park is immaculate and everyone we have met from staff to residents have been friendly and welcoming.

Was really looking forward to bringing our new fur baby for her first camping trip as last year we saw plenty of the puppy fences. We booked in mid February for this past week and was never notified that the fences were no longer allowed. We were told our first day to take it down that it wasn’t allowed. This is not posted on their website or in the terms and conditions as I double checked after this and even went to speak to management and was provided the terms and conditions that still did not contain the new policy. We were told this was due to lawn maintenance and came from the higher ups. Definitely would have found a campground that allows these if we had known about this. Understandably they lost a lot of their seasonal customers due to this and just lost another customer. Shame on management for not even compromising and punishing the fur babies for lack of management. Newsletters and notices with lawn maintenance dates could have prevented this issue as these fences are fast and easy to setup and tear down. So disappointing… do better!!!

We reserved campsites mainly because last year, they allowed a small, portable fence for dogs. This year, it's not allowed. There was nothing listing this change in their terms and conditions tyat was sent at the time we made the reservation or in their list of rules. Never coming here again. The person that stopped to tell us to take it down was rude, and the office staff was no help even when they also couldn't find this in their list of rules or terms and conditions.

Our family had a great time at Sun Retreats Gun Lake! It was our first time here and the staff was super friendly. Our son needed to complete a day of online driver Ed training and the last at the Cafe made sure he had access to the store at 8am so that he could access a table and the wifi. She was so kind! The food we ordered at the onsite Cafe was delicious. We had burgers, pizza, walking tacos, drinks, and ice cream! The facilities are very clean and well kept. Showers were clean as well as bathroo stalls. The playground was well taken care of and offered lots of fun. There were games tonrent from the store as well at no cost. Shuffleboard, basketballs, pickles all supplies, and more! They had onsite crafts and activities for the kids. The only downside was that the weather was lovely and the pool was empty and wouldn't be opening for almost the entire month. A campground we like just north of here has their heated poll open and running already. A missed opportunity for certain.

This campground is located just off US-131 conveniently located between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. Though you can hear some traffic noise, it is not bothersome - a reasonable price for the convenience of the location. The grounds are meticulously maintained. We had a level concrete pull-through site with ample room for our tow vehicle. Staff was pleasant. We were there mid-week during the off-season, so we can't comment on the activities. We were able to use our Passport American Membership.

We stayed in early May and the park was absolutely packed. I was impressed how clean and well kept everything was. There are a lot of rules and you could tell. There were no out of control golf carts with yelling teenagers or rowdy drunk adults. Everybody was courteous and polite. There are a number of seasonal sites but you have to look hard to find them. They are interspersed with the rest of the community and are maintained very clean and orderly. This was a nice surprise. Our site was paved, level, and was easily wide enough for our camper and stairs. We did not have a patio but our "lawn" was nicely maintained and spacious. The hookups were in good working order except for the water. We had 2 hose bibs; one leaked slightly and the other needed a screwdriver to turn it on. We used the one that dribbled with no issue. I liked that the connections were not low on the pole. The pole was strangely placed at the front of the site next to our truck. Water was not an issue but I had to break out the 50amp extension cord to reach. I should be happy I got a workout! The sewer connection was PVC and in good shape. Be forewarned the place is a maze. Keep the map in your vehicle. Finding sites is not a problem because there are signs, however leaving is another issue. There are no "Exit this way" signs. In an emergency it could be a real problem. I found by total accident that if you fire up Waze it will guide you out of the park. Google not so much. If I had one thing that annoyed me the dumpsters are only at the front by the office, on the way IN. When you are leaving with camper in tow you have to swing back into the incoming lanes to drop your trash and do a U-turn in the parking lot to head back to the exit. For such a large campground to not have a trash repository in the back near the store and bathrooms seems a missed opportunity. We will come back this is a very nice park! We camped at Sun Retreats Gun Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground/RV Resort. Lots of amenities. We stayed on off season so the price was reasonable. Friendly staff. Nice area and plenty to do in the surrounding areas. We had to do laundry and 2 out of the 6 machines were broken. I used their shower and the showers weren't impressive. The grass was long like it hadn't been cut in a while. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We always have fun when we visit. Family has a seasonal lot and we enjoy the games and events on the weekends. Like the Poker Run (photo attached). The pool is generous and they have a splash pad for kidos. And a few dog walking places for a stroll.
