Sunny Oaks RV Park
Overview
Sunny Oaks RV Park offers a tranquil retreat under a canopy of majestic moss-draped oaks. Located in the northern reaches of Jacksonville, this park provides a classic Florida atmosphere that prioritizes shade and quiet. Unlike bustling urban parks, it maintains a relaxed, residential vibe that helps travelers unwind after a long day of driving. It is a well-established destination that focuses on providing a peaceful environment for both short-term visitors and seasonal residents.
Location & Surroundings
Situated conveniently near the junction of Interstate 295 and US-1, the park provides easy access for travelers moving through the Northeast Florida corridor. The surrounding area is a mix of suburban convenience and natural Florida landscapes. Its proximity to Jacksonville International Airport makes it a strategic stop for those meeting friends or family, while the nearby St. Johns River offers a scenic backdrop for the region’s diverse geography.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is designed for functionality and comfort, offering full hookups at every site to ensure a hassle-free stay. Guests can take advantage of on-site laundry facilities and clean bathhouses, which are essential for those on extended road trips. The interior roads are paved and easy to navigate, and the abundance of mature trees provides significant relief from the Florida sun, creating a much cooler environment than many modern, open-lot resorts.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Travelers staying here are just a short drive from the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, one of the city’s top-rated family attractions. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to Little Talbot Island State Park, where pristine beaches and hiking trails await. For those interested in urban experiences, downtown Jacksonville offers professional sports venues, riverside dining, and a vibrant arts market, all reachable within twenty minutes of the park’s entrance.
Who This Park Is Best For
Sunny Oaks RV Park is an ideal choice for budget-conscious travelers who value a quiet, no-frills environment over high-priced resort amenities. It is perfectly suited for those seeking long-term stays or a stable base camp while working in the Jacksonville area. Because of its shaded lots and straightforward layout, it is also a great fit for traditional RVers who prefer a more natural, wooded setting rather than a concrete-heavy park.

Sunny Oaks is an amazing RV park. My family and I stayed at the reserve for about 4 months and we enjoyed every bit of it. Amenities were clean and up kept, staff was timely and provided impeccable customer service. Nothing bad to stay about sunny oaks! Whether you are staying short or long term, it’s completely worth it!

"If you are looking for a high-quality RV park in Jacksonville, FL, Sunny Oaks is an absolute standout. It offers a truly boutique RV experience that is a refreshing change from the larger, corporate-run parks. As someone who has built businesses throughout Florida, I really value the family-owned atmosphere here. The owner, Scott, clearly takes immense pride in the property and it shows in the details. The gravel spaces are exceptionally level and spacious, nestled under a beautiful canopy of mature oak trees that provide a quiet, secluded feel right in the heart of Duval County. Despite the peaceful setting, it’s incredibly convenient to I-295 and everything Jax has to offer. The amenities—from the high-speed Wi-Fi to the spotless laundry facilities—are top-tier. If you want a well-maintained, personal, and professional stay in a North Florida RV park, Sunny Oaks is the place to be. Five stars all the way!"

I parked here as I learned Jax and decided were I wanted to live for good. It is clean. It is safe. It is quiet, despite the train tracks. But you get used to the not so "white noise". Staff is responsive. Wifi is too slow to steam or work from home but you can get by in a pinch. It is convenient to major highways. It appears most people are here for a month plus. Everyone is respectful. Great place to park if you're trying to learn the area instead of jumping into some apartment you may come to hate.

Stayed here for two nights, clean and quiet. People very friendly. Had a RV tech come in on a sunday morning who fixed our problem. My rig is a 34 foot super C with a ten foot trailer and it was easy to get in and out of the park. Would easily stay here again.

This campground was quiet and peaceful. The only thing is it’s narrow and hard to fit 2 vehicles in the parking spot. But everyone we meet were extremely nice and vey welcoming, we enjoyed our stay there and if we are ever in the area we’ll stay there again.

Would have given this 5 stars except for the fact that in over 100° heat, in the middle of summer, there are no A/C's in the restroom/shower area. For the price they charge there's no excuse as to why they dont have any, they just dont. Otherwise if your not looking for an abundance of amenities this is the place for you.

We stayed one night with our 39' 5th wheel. There us ample space for truck and camper, in a beautifulsite. Easy in and out, close to the freeway. Officer personnel are knowledgeable and super friendly. Will definitely stop again.

Stayed there from end of feb to end of june. At firstit was nice then in May another camper said they had issues with fleas. Within 2 weeks we had a full blown flea infestation. We spent 500$ to get rid of them but they just kept coming back. We didnt get rid of the fleas til we left. The grounds crew is a joke. Barely mowed, when they "sprayed for ants" they didnt come anywhere near the anthills that were by us. Evelyn was the only really nice one there. We got complaints about our dogs being vicious. They arent vicious.... they are working dogs. Working dogs bark. Its their job plus its their breed. We havent got a single complaint at the new place we are at. Honestly 860 a month for next to nothing is insane. We are paying 600 a month for our new spot and it has a clubhouse, pool etc. 10x better then sunny oaks.

The manager was pleasant and attentive. The bathrooms were clean. The site was clean and leveled. Neighbors were quiet. If you want a campsite that’s quiet so you can relax this is the place for you. We were located on the reserve side.
