Beyond the water, the area is a haven for birdwatchers, especially with the world-renowned Sax-Zim Bog located just a short drive away, offering a chance to spot rare owls and boreal species. Hikers and explorers can also venture into the nearby wilderness areas to observe local wildlife and enjoy the vibrant fall colors typical of Northern Minnesota.
Who This Park Is Best For

Our group has been going to Whiteface Reservoir Campground for many years. We stay at the walk-in sites, bring our sailboats, canoe and other water toys. TJ (Terri) the campground manager is great. The hosts are friendly and keep this campground as neat as a pin. They are welcoming and accommodating. The other campground sites are great and lots of privacy. Definitely will be back. The Reservoir is beautiful for sailing, boating and fishing. Superior National Forest is a very special place!

We stayed at seasonal site 44 and couldn't have been happier! The campground was well maintained and the bathrooms were always clean. TJ, the campground manager, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back next summer!

Campground was great and rustic. Lots of privacy. Could barley see neighbors through trees. I stayed at site #26 and had a boat. Great place to pull boat up at campsite. Only about 100' walk on trail from site to boat. Kids even went swimming where we pulled boat up because it's all sand. Fishing was slow but caught small walleye and pike. Lake is beautiful but VERY easy to get lost without gps. Campground has 2 small beaches near boat launch. Boat launch was a short drive to campsite. Maybe about 1 mile away.

I was supposed to stay at a site at Cadotte lake but there was a tree across the road. When I pulled out my phone to let them know I saw I already had a message from them warning me of the tree. They then offered me a site at Whiteface and even offered me an electric site for the inconvenience. I took it and had a wonderful evening sitting by the campfire and exploring Whiteface with my canoe during the day. Great staff makes for a great experience.

Just spent 4 days here with my family of 5. Beautiful location! Campsites are clean and a perfect size for campers and tenters. Each site has a table and fire pit and feels secluded. The vault toilets are the cleanest I’ve ever seen, and they smell good too! The hosts are extremely hospitable and check in on you every now and then. They have a small convenience store at the entrance with snacks, ice, and firewood, so we never had to travel far. There was a small beach at the lake and a playground my kids loved! Highly recommend this spot.
