Talladega Infield Orange Campground

Overview

The Talladega Infield Orange Campground offers a one-of-a-kind experience for motorsport enthusiasts looking to immerse themselves in the heart of the action. Located directly inside the infield of the legendary Talladega Superspeedway, this camping area is not a typical quiet retreat. It serves as a high-energy hub for fans who want to wake up steps away from the garage area and the iconic racing surface during major event weekends.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Lincoln, Alabama, the Talladega Infield Orange Campground places visitors at the epicenter of NASCAR culture. The surrounding area features the rolling hills of the Talladega National Forest, providing a scenic backdrop to the intense race environment. While the immediate vicinity is dominated by the speedway, the campground is strategically located to allow easy access to major highway corridors, making it a primary destination for travelers navigating through the East-Central Alabama region.

Amenities & Park Features

Because this campground is located within the infield, it provides a unique infrastructure tailored to the event experience. Guests should note that this is a dry camping environment, meaning most spots do not include water or electrical hookups. However, the site offers access to centralized shower and restroom facilities throughout the event. Security personnel are on-site 24/7 to ensure safety, and the atmosphere remains vibrant, creating an authentic community feel among fellow race fans.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the excitement of the track, visitors can explore the nearby International Motorsports Hall of Fame, which honors the history of racing. Nature lovers often venture into the Cheaha State Park area, which offers hiking and spectacular views from the highest point in Alabama. The local community of Lincoln and the surrounding Talladega area provide convenient shopping and dining options, allowing campers to easily restock their supplies while enjoying the local Southern hospitality.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is best suited for dedicated motorsport fans who value proximity to the track above all else. It is an ideal choice for groups of friends or families who enjoy a loud, social, and festive camping atmosphere. If you appreciate being in the middle of the action and are prepared for a rustic, self-contained camping experience during race weekend, this location offers an unforgettable perspective on professional racing that no other venue can match.

One of our groups favorite campgrounds. Close to the toilet house and portable showers. Easy access to the infamous TALLADEGA Boulevard. They do have quiet hours but reasonably later so you can have fun and get some sleep. Best of both worlds.

Well the race was a good one the way the newly designed infield was run was not good in any way. The tram system was a sham system. They have no clue how to move people from there very expensive infield sties to the stands. Very poorly done. We also spoke to a person who identified herself as a nascar employee of a high rank. No reply from her either. Infield is just what they say it is. Drunk fest. And we did enjoy the company and festivities. We paid extra for garage experience and it was worth it. But the food and drinks in the stands could only be described as a rip off to the extreme, and the fact that you had to walk miles to get in was a disgrace. Once locked in the infield you are held captive to the 10 dollar golf cart ride and no way to walk out. No bridge. No tunnel. No way to get out without paying. Until Friday afternoon. When you can walk to get a tram that takes you to a very non convenient location. Good job to tallidaga. ( sarcasm) Oh and there is no way to send a message to them. Cause they don’t care really. :) And neither dose nascar clearly. ( vice of finance) Should have thought it through a tiny bit. If you build it people will come. Until they realize how poorly it’s run. Thanks.
