This place used to be awesome and the place our family visited every summer for years! Now we can't even get the office to respond when we need to alter our reservation even though we are months out from when we were booked. So beware. We are still hoping for a positive outcome and I will update the review if that happens. Update: The office did respond and we received our refund. We appreciated their response.

Such a shame as the view, of the Columbia River, from this property is stunning. I booked one of their tiny houses for a 2-night stay and didn't even stay for one. No soap, shampoo, washclothes and the sheets did not appear to have been washed. The smell, in the cabin, suggests that no one had been in there (and trash had been left) for quite some time. It is such a great location, and it wouldn't take much to turn it around, but the owner / caretaker just doesn't care.

The contract says no refund and that's understandable, but there was a horrible fire the day we arrived and you couldn't even breath from the smoke. We asked for a refund but they approved partial refund only and we never received it. Many people in campers were leaving early, but you can't even reach the owners because they have the store empty. The grass is completely dry and it's no longer the beautiful green camp site it used to be.

Something is off, the trash is overflowing and stinking up the campground especially the grassy area for tents. The office is closed and ringing the doorbell doesn't mean anyone will answer even though they are upstairs in the apartment. Looks like the grounds are not being watered, very crispy grass Just not the same here as last year. Reservation doesn't mean anything it's pick a spot maybe you won't have to move, maybe you will.

We came to stay here for 3 days. We found our time here very relaxing. We had a wonderful spot with a great view of the lake and really everything. Everyone at the park was very welcoming and friendly. The lake is just a short drive down the hill and if you want to rent a boat down at the marina, there’s boat rentals available too! I was impressed by the staff in the store, very nice and friendly! The girl in the store makes great coffee too! We enjoyed our time here and are making plans to come back next summer.

Always enjoy my visit at River Rue!!!(This review was from 3 years ago when River Rues Owners were John and Jane) As of January 2022 there are new owners to river rue. We had been residents of River Rue(John and Janes River Rue) for 14 years! 8 years of that was spent in the spot we just left when our lease was up. Our new yearly lease IF we renewed was going to be 15,000....yep you read that right 15,000!!! We didnt even have a spot with a full view of the Lake🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️. Many residents are leaving to go to other places or like us...purchase our own land to put our RV on. So when thinking of going to River Rue RV park know that these are new owners. They are not John and Jane. Very different Prices and Rules. So far the yearly lease prices range from 5,500 or 15,000. We are pretty sure the 15,000 price was a way to evict people without really evicting us🤷‍♀️. Oh there is the price range of 3,000 but the view is towards the back and looking at the mountain, small spot with barely any grass. It seems this new river rue prefer reservations made via online. Reaching them on phone is difficult and dont return messages in a timely manner, email isnt responded to either. It is sad to see what is happening to the original River Rue that John and Jane created years ago(1984-i think). Again....as of January 2022 there are new owners!! Make sure you know the prices and new rules before reserving a spot......

There are new owners. The old owners were amazing people. They owned the land, which gave them an AMAZING opportunity to keep prices incredibly low. The new owners are amazing people as well. But unfortunately, when you finance such a big property, a big bill comes with it. This is an amazingly beautiful huge piece of property, a store, a couple houses, a restaurant, storage space, shower area, too much to say, all overlooking the Roosevelt Lake, and the old owners got a very pretty penny for it, I am sure. The old rent being charged, was simply out of date. It was less then $10 a day I believe. THAT'S CRAZY!!! Bless their hearts for doing that though, since they were in a situation where they could. Unfortunately, the new owners are not in the same spot as the old owners were. Simply put, bills must be paid, and the insanely low monthly rent being charged, wouldn't do it. So, what do the new owners do? Keep the rent the same, lose money every month, file bankruptcy in 6 months? Fail and move on....Or do they fix up the place and charge rent that is closer to similar property in the area and succeed!! Give them a chance, permanent residence of River Rue RV Park, given the opportunity, they will prove they are good people, with truly loving and ambitious hearts. They both love the Lord immensely and she is very active with the youth in her church, she is a wonderful lady, who just wants to succeed. She doesn't want to be the bad guy, for that is so out of her character and nature, but to make the situation work, she had to do something. It really hurts my heart to hear how they have been treated since arriving at their new property. They bought the land and have to pay the bill, everyone just needs to remember that, before being so quick to judge.

New owners Jan 2022. Beware. The previous owners were solid and fair. Prices have doubled now with a focus making money and serving rich folks. John and Jain focused on average working people. The Rue is now a very different place. I guess nothing good lasts forever.
