We stayed at the Sportsman Lodge for a weekend hunting trip and had an excellent experience. Check-in was very convenient. We arrived very late at night, and the key code entry made it easy to access our room without having to bother the lodge owners. We stayed in Room 3, which was perfect for our needs. It included two comfortable beds, a futon, a full-sized stove and oven, and a full-sized refrigerator. This was ideal for storing our food and cooking dinner after a long day of hunting. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and felt very homey and inviting. Overall, our stay was outstanding. The Sportsman Lodge is clean, convenient, and well equipped. It is a great choice for hunters, fisherman, travelers, or anyone looking for a comfortable getaway. Highly recommend!

Was there twice this summer and ah my god loved it. People were great owners were amazing. Not the largest but they had the largest heart and friendliness. Owners were amazing restaurant was off the hook. Rv spot was meticulously maintained. Can't wait to be there next summer. Most definitely need to stay a lot longer.

We stayed in the centennial cabin, highly recommended! Exceptionally clean and cozy. We had dinner and beverages next-door at the sportsman’s bar, which was fantastic also. We will definitely be coming back. we also got a chance to meet the owners great people. This is what old Montana is all about.

We were on a road trip traveling through Montana and searching for an overnight stay. I keep seeing Sportsman Lodge on my phone. I made the call and the owner Bonnie answered, very pleasant. We booked one of the cabins and arrived 40 minutes later. Loved the room walked over to the restaurant and was joyfully surprised to hear live music! The place was packed, so fun! Great dinner and service from Abby, she also gave us some great local tips. On our walk back to the cabin about 8 people sitting around a fire playing music on the lawn, more fun! What an awesome place we have found! The next morning we decided to go back for breakfast and to our pleasant surprise Abby serving us again! This place is a gem, a diamond in the rough. Thank you to the owners for making this a truly special place! Paul and Julie

We absolutely loved our stay at Sportsman Lodge! The property is clean, peaceful, and well-maintained, with a perfect mix of comfort and that Montana charm. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our site was spacious, easy to access, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming, and it’s in a great location for exploring the surrounding area. We can’t say enough good things about this place — we will definitely be back!

We had a two-room unit while traveling with our niece. The room was comfortable and very convenient for the three of us. It's a beautiful location, and the facility is well kept up. We'd definitely stay again if we were in the area.

My husband and I and our two dogs loved our stay! We spent one night in the beautifully appointed cabins, and then the dogs and I spent several nights in the RV section in our camper van while my husband spent those days in the Pioneers with a hunting group. Such a beautiful spot, full of history. And the whole place is so clean and well-run. Great showers and laundry room.

Very quiet countryside setting, clean grounds, bathhouse and laundry. The restaurant on site was excellent the Huckleberry dressing is so good both times we ate there I ordered the salad and extra dressing to take home.

I’m a local Melrose resident who reserved a room at the Sportsman for our Pennsylvania friend last July. He loved his time there, very quiet and super clean. It’s just a short walk to the beautiful Big Hole River which features world class fishing, and abundant wildlife. We have other friends who come here often and stay with Ken and Bonnie. They think of Melrose and the Sportsman as a little taste of Heaven! Having the nearby fine dining Hitchin’ Post restaurant is truly a plus. Just a comment on Ken and Bonnie: last winter our water heater went out in our Melrose home. We needed a place for baths to soak our arthritic bones. Even though the Sportsman was closed for the season, Bonnie graciously opened up one of the rooms for us to use its bathtub, all without charge. We are so very grateful.

It's winter here in Montana, winds blowing and it's cold, but this place is amazing. Warm comfortable room with everything you could need. They have a restaurant called the Hitchin Post and the food is delicious. Great service. Your views are breathtaking and if you love the outdoors, well your right next to the Bighole river and the mountains. 10 out of 10.
