We camped at Thompson Campground in Moberly, MO for 5 nights at the end of June. We had an electrical issue that kept our ACs from running due to the breaker box on the sight. We required 50 amps, and it couldn't pull that much. They did get this issue resolved. They neglected to tell us that MO is the number one state for disease-causing ticks. As I walked my dogs, I received 30+ ticks bites within one day.. I resorted to just staying within 20 feet of the camper. However, it was too late. I now have Alpha-gal Syndrome from the local Texas Star Tick. I woke up with a rash and swelling on the second day I was there. We had access to a nurse, and she said 200 mg of Benadryl a day to keep me out of hospital. That worked, and I got tested, but I am now allergic to all mammal meat and its byproducts. My life and my health are now in jeopardy. My dogs went to vet and they said if this tick bit them they would show symptoms of paralysis in about 5 months. Were are waiting to see. Alpha-gal Sydrome may or may not go into remission after 2 years. It could be a life time of carrying an EpiPen and watching for sugar processed with, bone char and Natural flavorings. (which some are made from meat) No beef ,pork, lamb, goat etc. My heart meds are in jepordy. Nice campgroupd but use bug spray if you walk around.

Not much of a fan with this spot, trash in the campsite and poorly kept areas in rest of the park as well. This could be really nice too.

Nice campground... quiet and fellow campers are very nice. I know it camping and electronics shouldn’t be used.... but hen you work remotely it’s necessary... on that note the WiFi could be improved. I know it’s free and it’s very much appreciated but most of the time it’s not very useful. Can’t get much done with 1 to 2mbs download speed. Overall though it’s a nice place to camp.
