Often referred to as a mandatory stop for road-trippers, this family-operated establishment in Tok provides a practical and friendly resting spot. It effectively balances necessary utilities with a touch of genuine Alaskan hospitality, making it a memorable location rather than just a place to park for the night. Visitors often appreciate the relaxed social atmosphere and the opportunity to exchange route tips with fellow explorers at the park’s central hub.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the heart of Tok, Alaska, the park is nestled within the vast boreal forest that defines the region’s rugged landscape. Tok is a critical transit hub where the Alaska Highway meets the Tok Cut-Off, connecting travelers to Fairbanks, Anchorage, and the Yukon. This location offers a distinct sense of frontier life, where the surroundings are dominated by towering spruce trees and mountain vistas. Travelers can enjoy the crisp northern air and the quiet beauty of the Alaskan interior while remaining conveniently close to the town’s essential services and fuel stations.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is specifically designed to accommodate a wide range of vehicles, featuring spacious pull-through sites that cater to large motorhomes and caravans. Most sites offer full hookups with 20, 30, and 50-amp electricity to ensure a comfortable stay. Guests have access to well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms, hot showers, and laundry rooms, which are vital for those on long-haul journeys. The most distinctive feature is the on-site Tundra Bar, a famous local spot where guests can unwind with a beverage and enjoy the community vibe that makes this park unique.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While staying in Tok, visitors can visit the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center to discover the local flora and fauna. For a unique experience, Mukluk Land provides a quirky look at Alaskan history and serves as a great spot for family photos. The town is also famous for its local artistry, and guests can browse Alaskan-made crafts and birch bark baskets at nearby gift shops. Many travelers use the park as a base for wildlife viewing or as a final staging point before heading deeper into the wilderness of the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park region.
Who This Park Is Best For
Tundra RV Park is an ideal choice for long-distance adventurers who need a dependable and social stopover while navigating the Alcan. It particularly appeals to big-rig owners who require easy-access sites and travelers who enjoy a lively, communal environment. What a great camp ground. We pulled in late. The folks were so nice and aven offered to keep the laundry open for us later than normal. Clean bathrooms, showers and a great laundry facility. We didn't get to the bar. We'll work the stop for sure!

I have been a full time R/Ver for over a year now. I've stay in almost one hundred campgrounds in that time. Tundra R/V is in my favorite top 5. The sites are level and spaced decently far apart with trees in between to help with privacy, and reasonably priced. The bathrooms and showers are modern, well-kept and super clean. There is a laundry mat here that's fairly priced and also well kept. On top of that the owners are very friendly and accommodating. 100% recommend this place

We stayed here when we came to Alaska and again on the return trip. Great owners/staff. Very accommodating. Our campsite, #20, was easy to get into and easy to get level. Laundry machines worked great. Three Bears Market is a couple minutes away fun little bar attached to the office. We left our coach overnight and drove the tow car to Eagle and stayed at the B&B. Wonderful experience if you love history and want to know how these small Alaskan villages survive. Alatay two night if you can and watch the Yukon float by. Bring wine the town is dry.

Anissa and Tim are so nice and accommodating. The folks we met at the bar were very friendly and generous. You could not stay at a better place! Thank you for the opportunity to get to know the most amazing people in Alaska.

Campground was clean and sites are very spacious. Showers and laundry facilities on site are very much appreciated. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Step in the bar for a drink and met a few of the locals and had a great time bonding with them. Highly recommend this campground.

The Thundra is obviously an awesome building, but we (as locals) went to an event in their bar & it's is even more amazing inside. I didn't rate their rooms, because I've never stayed there - but if you're looking for a nice place to sit and have a drink with no hassles this is it!
Not all who wander are lost.
Funky and priced right for the location and what you get. Super accommodating owners. RV spots to meet whatever requirements you have, and as a bonus, the mosquitos were not bad. (Apparently, a REAL bonus in July in Alaska...(

One of the best in town RV parks I have ever stayed in. Lots of space between sites with trees for each one. Fairly level sites, hook ups full or partial. We asked to be out away from most as our dog can be territorial. Wasn't a problem and the site is great.. Large enough for our 32' 5th wheel, truck and you could park another car if needed. Showers and laundry are on site.. No concrete jungle here...

A wonderful park! The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly, accommodating, and easy going. We tried reserving online on our drive up the Alaska Highway, but our cell signal was non-existent, so he took care of us as a walk-in, no problem! As for the RV spaces and overall site, it’s lovely, with beautiful trees everywhere. It has the electric and water hookups you need, showers, laundry, even a bar… but is also perfectly rustic.

Wonderful RV park! We had perfect spot, full hook up for our truck and 5th wheel. Huge trees on both sides, picnic tables and fire pits at each site. They have 20, 30 and 50 Amp service, water and sewer if needed. They also have dry camps. Rest rooms and showers were very clean, well lighted, spacious too. Laundry on site, car wash and a bar that looked well stocked, but we forgot to visit in the evening. The park is laid out very well, lots of pull through spots as well as back in. We will definitely stay here again! The staff? Fabulous!!!
