Stayed here the night of 8/28/25 & everything went smooth. Park was nice & quiet, office staff was extremely nice, they come & pick up your trash for you at your campsite which is a bonus. Restrooms were clean & the spots were in shaded areas. Only Paid $45 for the night.

I spent some time at Turkey Swamp Park and it was a really relaxing experience. The trails wind through quiet woods with a lot of shade, which made the walk feel calm and a little more secluded compared to busier parks. The lake was the highlight for me. It’s peaceful with spots where you can pause and take in the view or snap some photos. I managed to get a few nice shots !! The park has a simple, natural vibe, nothing too flashy, which I actually liked—it felt like a good place to clear my head and just enjoy being outdoors. Overall, it was a low-key but rewarding walk, and I’d go back again for another quiet afternoon.

This review is specifically about the Nomoco Road activity area and campgrounds. What an awesome spot for an easy camping weekend. Very well maintained grounds with large clean platform tents that comfortably sleep a family of 4 per tent but could fit 6 if needed. Our site had 6 platform tents with plenty of space for the kids to run around, a picnic pavilion with 3 picnic tables underneath and another 3 tables in the open. There was also a fire ring with 4 benches and a spigot with running water. Portapotties were right at the entryway to the camping area as well as beautiful air conditioned bathrooms by the main field area. There are several of these sites with ample tree cover for privacy but a large group in multiple sites would be fine. The main field is very large and well maintained and there was also a basketball court and volleyball court. Turkey Swamp recreational area with the lake is a bit far to walk to but it is about a 5 minute car ride to the lake, trails, etc. Overall an excellent spot to camp without really having to rough the outdoors.

There are fish in the water. I have not seen any fish that would set a record, but a decent bite. You can rent peddle boats, canoes or row boats, staff very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The negative is the lake is maybe 3 feet at its deepest part. Getting to the hot spots are difficult when you are trying to row i 18 inches of water. Overall one of my favorite spots.

Beautiful and clean park. You could see the fish in the swamp. The trails are nicely marked. You can go mountain biking, fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, camping, and more. They have a nice camping section. We also visited the archery area with longest distance 40 and shortest 15. The bathroom was clean

This campground has larger sites than at any NJ state park I've ever been to, and much larger than two nearby privately-owned campgrounds that I stayed at other years. The bathrooms are clean, the showers work just fine, and the playground is newer and in great condition. The rangers are very helpful and pleasant. Trash and recycling bins are located at each site and are changed by the staff frequently. The campground is well-shaded with many trees. We had a wonderful time despite the rainy weekend.

Nice spot for a picnic on the lake and some canoeing in the summer. Play grounds for the kids. Trails are OK but there are lots of mucky segments and minimal elevation changes .
