Twenty-Five Mile Creek

Overview

Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park offers a rugged escape on the scenic south shore of Lake Chelan. Unlike the busier parks closer to town, this destination provides a tranquil mountain atmosphere that feels worlds away from the daily grind. It serves as a vital gateway for those looking to explore the deeper, more remote reaches of the lake while maintaining a comfortable basecamp for their RV journey. This park is widely recognized for its transition from the manicured valley to the untamed wilderness of the North Cascades.

Location & Surroundings

Situated roughly 18 miles up-lake from the town of Chelan, the park is nestled where steep, forested mountains meet the crystal-clear waters of this fjord-like lake. The drive along South Lakeshore Road offers stunning vistas of vineyards and orchards before transitioning into the dense Wenatchee National Forest. This geographic location provides a cooler, more shaded environment than the lower valley, making it a refreshing summer retreat for travelers looking to escape the heat.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is thoughtfully laid out to accommodate water enthusiasts and road trippers alike. While the atmosphere is rustic, the facilities are well-maintained for comfort. Key features include:

  • 19 partial-hookup sites equipped with water and electricity.
  • A full-service marina featuring a boat launch, fuel dock, and moorage.
  • Essential utilities including a convenient dump station and seasonal camp store.

Please note that the RV sites have a maximum length limit of 30 feet, which preserves the intimate and quiet nature of the campground.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the lake is the primary draw for swimming and fishing, the surrounding area is a hiker’s paradise. You can explore various scenic forest trails that offer panoramic views of the water or take a boat trip further up-lake to the remote community of Stehekin. For a change of pace, the nearby Chelan Valley wineries offer world-class tastings just a short drive back toward town, blending rugged outdoor adventure with the sophisticated local culture of Washington’s premier wine country.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for small-to-mid-sized RV owners and van lifers who prioritize natural beauty over resort-style luxuries. It is a haven for boating enthusiasts and anglers who want immediate access to deep-water fishing and moorage. If you prefer a quiet, rustic setting where the sound of the wind through the pines replaces highway noise, this serene lakeside destination is the perfect fit for your next Washington road trip.

Good camping spots beautiful scenery but water access is mainly for boats. No real access to the crystal clear water of the lake is disappointing. The “swim area” is a small triangle wading pool sharing the funky water from enclosed boat mooring. Would be nice if they opened up more water access for those who do not moor or launch a boat.

This park is definitely not RV friendly. We stayed in site 16 with our 18 foot travel trailer and it was a nightmare to get into. The roads are narrow and was lined with large boulders, giving you little to no room for backing up. Not to mention the RV hook ups are in the back of the site, a little weird. Theres very little privacy between the camp sites. The swimming area is small. I will say it's not as crowded as Lake Chelan state park but that's all I can really say that was good about this park.

This has always been one of favorites spots for camping. They have a store and a designated area for swimming. You can make a reservation online to book it. The water is super clear.

Amazing campsite. Right on the lake front with a swimming area for littles and a boat ramp. The Creek area has access to the lake for paddle boards or canoes. Small store allows you to buy things you forgot. Has toys, snacks, alcohol, regular drinks and more. Owner was very friendly. Showers and restrooms where clean and had hot water. Best sites for view are 1, 3, 12, and 13.

Spent 2 nights tent camping with 2 dogs. This was a beautiful campground and I'd highly recommend it! We had a great campsite in the back of the campground near the creek. It was so nice to be able to hear the creek from where we were. The campground is far from the city of Chelan, about 30 minutes so I'd recommend getting supplies before coming out. There is a small general store but it has limited hours. We'd hoped for more lake access but there isn't much unless you have a boat. We were able to get in the water near the boat launch. If you want a swimming area, try Lake Chelan State Park. Nice bathrooms and showers. This campground has great WiFi.
