Valley View RV Park
Overview
Valley View RV Park serves as a scenic gateway for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of Eastern Idaho and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Situated at an elevation of over 6,000 feet, this park offers a quiet mountain atmosphere that transitions perfectly from the bustle of the highway to the serenity of the pines. It is well-regarded for its spacious layout and accessibility, making it a reliable choice for those navigating the scenic stretches of Highway 20 as they head toward the national parks.
Location & Surroundings
Located in the heart of Island Park, Idaho, the park is surrounded by the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The landscape is defined by vast volcanic plateaus and dense timberline views. It sits just a short drive from the West Entrance of Yellowstone, providing a convenient home base without the congestion found directly inside the national park boundaries. The air is crisp, and the local scenery often includes sightings of regional wildlife against a backdrop of distant peaks and lush forest floors.

The park is designed to accommodate modern rigs with ease, offering full hookup sites that include 30 and 50-amp electricity. Facilities provided at the park include:
- Clean shower and restroom facilities are available for guest comfort during their stay.
- On-site laundry rooms provide a convenient way to refresh gear after long days of outdoor excursions.
- Level gravel sites are specifically designed to ensure big-rig accessibility and easy setup.
Additionally, the proximity to a nearby convenience store and fuel station ensures that supplies are always within reach during your mountain adventures.

- Historical trails and wildlife viewing are plentiful at nearby Harriman State Park.
- A scenic drive leads visitors to the powerful and majestic Mesa Falls.

Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for Yellowstone-bound adventurers who prefer a more relaxed environment than the crowded lodges within the park. It appeals to families and retired couples looking for a well-maintained basecamp with reliable utilities. If you value easy highway access combined with immediate proximity to Idaho’s premier fishing and hiking destinations, this location fits your travel style perfectly.

Great little RV park not far from Yellowstone. Staff was friendly and informative. Beautiful fall back drop. Clean laundry room. Very quiet and dark at night

We stayed for 4 nights during our time at Yellowstone. It was mid-May when most full hookup rv parks aren’t open yet, so we were grateful to have found Valley View! Our stay was right before the season kicked off & we thoroughly enjoyed no crowds. Valley View Campground is the perfect distance, 15-20 minutes away from West Yellowstone, escaping the hustle & bustle to enjoy the quiet & extraordinary views of nature!!! The facilities are very nice & I loved the full size laundromat so I could get all laundry done quickly. Friendly staff! We would totally stay here again!

This is our third visit at Valley View RV Park. Had to give overall 3 star review. Such a disappointment to see everything is dead. The website shows green grass and lush trees however, those are older photos. That's what it used to look like. I couldn't even take a photo this time because it was so sad to see they let everything die. I requested a specific site and chose NOT to pay the extra $35.00 to guarantee that site. Sure enough, I was not assigned that site # even though there was no one in it. Got probably the worst site, grass completely dead, weeds and gopher holes. Showers are beautiful, but hit and miss with hot water even though no one else was in them. Did not make a fuss about any of it. But may never be back. The staff is great and the location is great if you are going in to see Yellowstone. I hope they decide to update the website to reflect the current state of the park, or start giving it some TLC.

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2025. The park is very nice, the mgmt was extremely helpful with a minor issue we had while there. They were also really helpful providing ideas on hikes and day trips to take. The bathrooms and showers were impeccably clean. Huge laundry house so no issues waiting for laundry. Lots of space to walk big dogs as well. Would stay here again absolutely.

We had a good experience staying here with our camper! There was plenty of space at each spot, with a picnic table and full hook ups. It was a nice outdoor setting. The bathrooms were clean and great! There were showers as well. It was only a few minutes drive int Yellowstone.

Stayed here last minute after losing our money and leaving Fox Den RV in West Yellowstone (dump). Was worth it! Great scenery here! Only 15 min from West entrance. Wifi and laundry services were good. Happy with our decision. Gas station was a convenience. Highly recommended!

This is a very nice park. Beautiful views and very Big Rig Friendly. Vey close to Yellowstone Entrance about 15 miles down the road. Big spacious laundromat on site. Good Mexican food right down the road. Horseback riding nearby. Good rates. Saved 600.00 below KOA price.

As a full time RV family, we stayed here for 2 weeks while exploring Yellowstone and had a great time. Park is close to west Yellowstone and Yellowstone National park but far enough away from all the traffic. Decent size park, with big laundromat, restrooms, showers, playground, and a rec room (pool table, cornhole, darts, etc.) Large pull through sites. We would definitely stay again.

We were thankful for this place since we got in last minute. The owners were so nice and kind. The site was clean and well kept. They gave us great directions as we were headed to Yellowstone. They even gave us some lettuce and radishes from their garden!

The location is wonderful. Proximity to West Yellowstone is fantastic. I found the staff to be very helpful to us as well as other campers. The bathroom/showers are immaculate. The road noise was minimal and did not take away in anyway from the experience. The site we had was large enough for us and our 2 dogs. Beautifully maintained. Would definitely stay again.
