Overview
Wenberg County Park offers a tranquil lakeside escape located on the eastern shores of Lake Goodwin in Snohomish County. This 46-acre park provides a classic Pacific Northwest camping experience with a mix of wooded sites and direct water access. It is managed by the county and serves as a popular destination for those looking to combine boating and RV camping in a well-maintained, natural setting. The park is widely recognized for its clean facilities and welcoming atmosphere.
Location & Surroundings
Situated just north of Marysville and west of the Seven Lakes area, the park feels secluded despite its proximity to the I-5 corridor. The landscape is characterized by towering evergreen trees that provide shade and privacy for many of the campsites. Being positioned on the shores of Lake Goodwin, visitors enjoy scenic water views and easy access to one of the region's most popular recreational lakes. The drive into the park takes you through rolling hills and agricultural land, providing a scenic transition from the highway.
Amenities & Park Features
The park features several loops with full-hookup RV sites, including 30 and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections for your convenience. Guests have access to modern restrooms and coin-operated showers, ensuring a comfortable stay in the woods. Beyond the campsites, the park boasts a concrete boat launch, a designated swimming beach, and multiple picnic shelters. There is also a playground for children and plenty of green space for outdoor games, making the park feel like a true community hub for campers.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Water sports are the primary draw here, with opportunities for waterskiing, fishing, and kayaking right from the park’s edge. If you want to explore further, the charming town of Stanwood offers local boutiques and dining, while the Kayak Point County Park is a short drive away for saltwater beachcombing. The proximity to the Tulalip Resort Casino and major shopping outlets provides a nice balance for those who want a mix of nature and modern entertainment during their trip.
Who This Park Is Best For
Wenberg County Park is an ideal choice for active families and water enthusiasts who want a recreational basecamp near the water. It caters well to boaters who appreciate having a launch on-site and to RVers seeking a lush, forested environment without sacrificing essential utilities. It is perfect for those who enjoy a lively atmosphere during the summer but prefer a quiet, reflective retreat during the cooler off-season months. It also appeals to those traveling with standard-sized motorhomes who prefer the security of a county-run facility.

This park has always been one of my favorite places to visit in the summer. I left work early today just to take my kids swimming. I understand it was hot and the park was full, but the way the park rangers spoke to us was honestly disappointing. Even my two-year-old asked me why the lady was being so rude. I just needed a moment to figure things out, especially since my whole family was already at the lake. I wish they would handle situations like that with a little more patience and respect. My kids were so excited to go swimming today. As a mom, how do I explain to them that we can’t go because the park is full and we’re being rushed away so rudely? It’s hard enough having to disappoint them, but the way it was handled made it feel even worse. A little patience and understanding go a long way—especially when families are just trying to enjoy their day together.

Beautiful park, with swimming, boating, and picnic areas. A nice metal dock for fishing.

We stayed at Wenberg for 5 days. Two accessible camping sites are available. Our space was quite large. No hookups were provided. A picnic table and grill were provided. Outdoor water faucet was near the bathrooms. Coin operated showers are available in bathrooms. No family shower. Wood for fires was available from host for $5.00 per bundle. We were there over the 4th of July. Many families with children were happily playing around the campsites. Beautiful Lake Goodwin is accessible down a long road. Boat ramp and beach area and picnic areas along the shore line.
