Whitefish RV Park
Overview
Whitefish RV Park serves as a tranquil, wooded sanctuary located surprisingly close to the heart of one of Montana’s most popular mountain towns. The park offers a unique blend of natural forest surroundings and urban convenience, providing a quiet place to rest after a day of exploring. Travelers often appreciate the mature trees that offer a sense of privacy and separation from the surrounding neighborhood. It serves as an ideal basecamp for Glacier National Park adventures, maintaining a relaxed atmosphere that mirrors the laid-back Montana lifestyle.
Location & Surroundings
Situated within the city limits, this park allows visitors to enjoy the best of both worlds. You are within a short distance of downtown Whitefish, where local boutiques, galleries, and craft breweries await. The property is tucked away from the main highway, nestled among towering evergreens that dampen city noise and provide ample shade. Its position makes it easy to access the SNOW bus for trips to the ski resort or to take a quick drive over to the pristine waters of Whitefish Lake for an afternoon swim.
Amenities & Park Features
The park provides the essential comforts required for a seamless stay, including full hookup sites with both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. On-site facilities include clean restrooms and laundry services, which are highly valued by those on extended road trips through the Pacific Northwest. Each site typically includes a picnic table, encouraging guests to dine outdoors under the canopy. While the park maintains a rustic feel, the presence of reliable Wi-Fi ensures that travelers can stay connected while enjoying their mountain retreat.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw for many guests is the proximity to Glacier National Park, located just about 30 minutes away, offering world-class hiking and the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Locally, visitors can explore the Whitefish Trail system for mountain biking or head to Whitefish Mountain Resort for summer zip-lining and alpine slides. During the summer months, the nearby Whitefish Lake State Park provides excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and paddleboarding in a stunning alpine environment.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is a perfect fit for active adventurers who prioritize a central location and easy access to local amenities over luxury resort features. It is ideal for those who plan to spend their days exploring the backcountry but want to be within walking distance of a high-quality meal or a local coffee shop in the evening. Because of its quiet nature and wooded layout, it attracts RVers who appreciate a more traditional, nature-focused camping experience while still being connected to the vibrant culture of Whitefish.

A very nice RV park. The park is super clean and looks almost brand new. The location is convenient to shopping and a short drive to the West Entrance to Glacier NP. Best of all the host “Denise” was super! She obviously puts her heart and soul into managing the park. Highly recommended.

The campground is kept nice, has a lot of trees and the facilities are great and clean. Denise has been wonderful and was able to accommodate us needing a late check out (during slower season). We recommend staying there!

The Whitefish RV Park is an outstanding small gem of a campground on the outskirts of Whitefish. The spots are generous, pretty, private, and pristine. We can’t say enough about the bathrooms and laundry facilities. The hostess, Denise, has gone out of her way to create an amazing experience for all of her guests, even the 4 legged variety. The location is perfect for heading into Whitefish or for exploring Glacier NP or Kalispell. Excellent food options are within walking distance and there is a car/trailer/ pet wash just down the street. We definitely would recommend this as an option for your stay in Whitefish.

Thank you Denise for a wonderful stay. I enjoyed our chats and definitely will stay again. We had a couple next to us that complained about sprinklers going off on them , but they were parked in the wrong spot and moved the picnic table to accommodate themselves which in turn put their tent 3 feet from the sprinklers. It was own fault, not yours. As I said wonderful place to stay, close to amenities and you were very accommodating and if I could give 10 stars I would. Highly recommend.

We had camped out here for 4 nights in our RV which we drove from Canada. Very conveniently located and very quiet. Easy to find, just off the highway. Full hookup sites means no worries. Clean premises managed by Denise. We liked the punctuality and thoroughness of the host. All amenities nearby : Safeway, Starbucks, Restaurants. Definitely would recommend.

We used this campground as base camp for our daily adventures into Glacier. The campground, bathrooms, showers, and laundry facility are clean and updated. They have accommodations for a variety of vehicles, including pull through for the large motorhomes and room for a tow vehicle to park. We had a 32ft motorhome and rented a SUV at the airport down the road. Both fit fine. It’s a quiet park with a few longer stay residents mixed in. This might seem strange to some but it’s an advantage. You don’t have people constantly coming and going and everyone is friendly and keeps their spots tidy, many decorated with flowers and such. We also stayed at KOA and in terms is space, this park has more. Customer service is over the top. If you need help choosing a spot, just ask Denise. She lives onsite and will ensure you get the best spot for your setup. Within a short drive is a fun and artistic downtown district. We needed more time to explore! Also, highly recommend Jalisco Mexican restaurant and Buffalo Cafe!!! We’d definitely stay here again.

We just spent 3 night at the White Fish RV Park and really liked it there a lot! Very strong wifi from their own wifi service, strong enough for Zoom classes and for streaming movies, and strong cell service. There was a sidewalk with beautiful views, to walk the 1-1/4 miles into the wonderful town. A Cowgirl Coffee stand was adjacent to the property. Few people were there in late May so we had plenty of space to ourselves. The manager, Denise, was super friendly and a great resource about local life. Overall the RV park had a very relaxed and mountainous feeling. We recommend spending time seeing White Fish Lake, driving to Big Mtn Ski Resort (and riding the gondola to the top), driving to glacier National Park and catching a Sat night rodeo in nearby Columbia Falls.

My fiancé and I stayed here last summer for under the big sky. The tent site we were in was more of a shared dry camping situation but it worked out perfectly we had our own space with our own table and such. The bathrooms were spotless and the service was extremely friendly! Location was great we were able to walk to coffee in the morning!

We are staying in Whitefish, and our camper needed its battery charged. We stopped by Whitefish RV Park, and Denise quickly helped us find an outlet we could use. The campground is well-maintained, clean, and friendly. When we asked Denise how much we owed her, she said, "You don't owe me—just pay it forward." Wow, you don't get service like this too often anymore. Thanks for your support and genuine hospitality, Denise. Great place!

I suck for forgetting the host name but she was sweet, helpful and had her son for assistance. I can't believe how quiet this place was. Based on location seen on maps I thought there would be noise from the major street, but it was quiet every night. I chose the spot for closeness to Glacier Park and due to the closer RV parks being unavailable. I was surprised to find out being close to downtown Whitefish was a blessing. Great places to eat and drink, which a farmers market (including many meal trucks) on Tuesday night. I would bring the RV back here again even if the closer (to Glacier Park) RV resorts had availability. However, I wouldn't if I had kids. Not really a kid environment. Finding the entrance was a little hard at first. Look for the red 'Locals' sign on the West side of the street.
