I've never met a bad KOA. I mean the people who work there are so nice, the place is clean as a whistle and there's a lot to do. Its kind of funny but this KOA seems to draw a higher end " camper" then the others I've stayed at lol. Lots of really nice campers with most of the people not coming outside at all....Definitely worth going and we'll be going back for sure!

We stayed at Wilmington KOA Holiday in Wilmington, NC from October 14 to 18. Getting There: The area is under construction and neither our Garmin, Google, or Ford GPS's could figure out the area. All three gave us wrong directions getting to the campground, finding local businesses, etc. The road the campground is on now has a median so you can't take a left out of the campground (which all GPS's kept telling us to do) and if you're trying to come in from the south it can be a bit tight, especially for bigger rigs. Customer Service/Checking In: Fantastic! Check in was pleasant, and they escort you to your site. Site #: 34 Level: Level for the most part, we just needed a single block on the driver side. Electric/Water/Sewer: Everything worked great. Noise Level: It is in a city setting so there's the expected noise that comes with that, but nothing terrible. Interior Roads: It's all one-ways and if you're in the back corner, there are no thru ways so it can be a long walk back to your site. But they're well-maintained and smooth for driving. Pet Experience: The fenced dog area is very nice and there are areas along the outer roads where dogs can sniff, pee, poop without being in people's sites. There are several poop stations throughout the park. Overall Pros: It's a very nice park with easy access to local conveniences. They have all day trash pickup which is a bonus. The store is well-stocked with essentials and swag. At the entrance is a self wash with bays big enough for RV's. Overall Cons: Some sites can be fairly close to the neighbors. We were in 34, which is in the turn and the corner of the neighbor's trailer was practically in our space. The neighbor didn't have enough space to park their truck in front of the trailer, so they parked it in the back which actually partially blocked entrance to our site. That said, sites 62/63 had a lot more space between neighbors. Would I return: Yes, but since space is our preference we'd pick a different site than 34.

Great place! They had the nicest and cleanest restrooms/showers I have ever been in at a campground They were like your home bathroom. The lounge and laundry areas were superb. Staff was friendly, the sites were great. If we get bac that way I would definitely stay again!

We visit Wilmington koa at least twice a year. Nice campground with super staff. Love walking the dogs through their wooded area and the fairy island. Great atmosphere when considering the campground is actually in the city.

We had a full hookup RV site that was completely level. There are trees and well-kept landscaping, and the sites are relatively roomy. The staff was both friendly and helpful. They are very dog friendly, and seemed to have an incredible number of kid and family friendly play areas and activities. There is some food available on-site, just a very short drive to a grocery store and a large variety of restaurants. We'll definitely be back!

I almost didn't write a review because I want this place to always be available to use. Nice, cozy, but small cabin. Fine for 4 (if two are kids or small adults...like us). 15 min to the beach. Nice pool. Outdoor games & playground are a good touch. Staff seems very friendly.

We recently stayed here and it was great. We had one of the deluxe cabins. Included fridge, microwave, coffee maker, bathroom and shower. All linens were there and towels and wash cloths. Very quiet place with a great staff. We did have a minor problem with the septic system but the maintenance team were and had it fixed quickly. Hats off to those guys. By the way, it was definitely pet friendly. Our Malamute loved sleeping under the bunk beds.

It is a typical KOA in regards to your neighbors being close. However, this facility is extremely clean and while taking care of with a good amount of staff members. They have wonderful well appointed cabins, and the individual campsites are well groomed, maintained and appointed. The staff is ridiculously friendly and helpful. Not to mention a smoothie shop on site that is worth popping in just to get the smoothie. There is an RV camper wash just outside the property. The location is just north of Wilmington, but so close you could almost walk to events.

I can't comment on the "rooms" or cabins because I camped. The site was huge, tons of rooms to spread my wings. The amenities were beautiful. Although it was too cold to swim the pool is pristine. The restrooms and showers were very nice and clean. The playground has tons of stuff for kids and even adults to enjoy. The fairy village is adorable!
