Wisconsin State Fair Park RV Park

Overview

The Wisconsin State Fair Park RV Park serves as a unique urban camping destination located directly on the grounds of the state fairgrounds in West Allis, a suburb of Milwaukee. Unlike rural campgrounds that offer seclusion, this facility provides a convenient, no-frills paved lot experience. It is a highly practical choice for travelers who prioritize proximity to city events and urban amenities over forest landscapes, making it a reliable year-round basecamp for those visiting the Greater Milwaukee area.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just minutes from downtown Milwaukee, the park offers unparalleled access to Wisconsin's largest metropolitan hub. The surrounding area is predominantly urban, placing visitors within reach of major highways that make navigating the city straightforward. While the setting is essentially a large, level parking area, its central location makes it an ideal launchpad for exploring lakefront attractions, professional sports stadiums, and the diverse culinary scene that defines this historic Midwestern city.

Amenities & Park Features

The RV park is designed for function, offering full hookup sites that include water, sewer, and electrical service to accommodate a wide variety of rigs. While it lacks the recreational features of a luxury resort, it provides essential comforts such as clean restrooms and shower facilities. The layout is specifically engineered to be big-rig friendly, with wide aisles and spacious paved pads that simplify the arrival and departure process for even the largest motorhomes and travel trailers.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Visitors staying here are perfectly positioned to enjoy Milwaukee’s most popular highlights. Guests can easily reach the shores of Lake Michigan to explore iconic museums, vibrant public markets, and sprawling urban parks. During the summer months, being located on the fairgrounds means instant access to the massive Wisconsin State Fair. Beyond the fair, the park is a short drive from Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, and the historic downtown district, which is famous for its brewery tours and lakefront festivals.

Who This Park Is Best For

This RV park is ideal for travelers who value efficiency and convenience above all else. It is perfectly suited for those visiting Milwaukee for business, attending major stadium events, or participating in festivals held at the fairgrounds. Because it provides paved, level sites and proximity to major city landmarks, it serves as a straightforward, accessible hub for road-trippers who want to park their rig and spend their days exploring the culture and entertainment of Wisconsin’s largest city.

Very basic campground. They have a nice laundry area. Nice restrooms. Small area for you to buy some necessities. Close to everything has mail for you to retrieve if you stay there long-term. I have stayed there long-term and short-term. Never had any problems. Would recommend this place very highly. If you're staying in Milwaukee I need to be close to everything. Your dogs are allowed as long as they're on a leash. They do not have our dog run area but they do have areas for your dog to go to the bathroom

Urban camping at its finest. This was our very first time here with our 25 ft Class A for the IndyCar race. The staff in the check in office was organized. The different lots show how it is expandable based on events. Full hookups by the newer bathhouse. I as across the road with electric and water which was fine for a short stay. This is perfect for any event at the fairgrounds or event in downtown Milwaukee. I will definitely be back again for next years race.

This was our very first time here with our travel trailer. The staff in the check in office were very helpful and friendly. This RV park is very clean and has nearby access to the freeway They have some pull through 30 amp and 50 amp with electricity. They also have dry sites just for parking. They have some pull through sites with full hook ups. They also have a clean laundry facility with showers and restrooms. We will definitely be back again.

We stayed a week middle of May. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean laundry, showers and bathrooms. We were across the street (asphalt site) and had water and electric hookups, sewer available in main part of the park although there is a dump available. Convenient and priced right, but a little noisy, freeway on one side and near streets. Safe, saw security couple times a day. Also, he had a plan for the tornadoes that were in the area our first night!

Perfect place to stay if going to a Brewers Game and spending time Downtown. There is no doubt that this is a parking lot, spots are close together-not level and RV doors face each other, not a place to be hanging out and grilling. With that said, it is clean, safe, quiet, offers full hook ups, well-lit, convenient to all things Milwaukee. Super nice staff, Bathrooms-Showers-Laundry rooms must have been newly renovated, they are pristine and large. Dog walk area/grass in-between rows, or in back of some sites. Some sites offer shade.

All pavement and a little tight for larger RVs but this is somewhat expected for being in the city. If not paying for RV spot, dump station is $ 10 and is open to the public.

Added a site map since there’s no good ones online. Great place to stay in MKE. Highly recommend

We spent three nights in a FHU site to visit friends & the area. We did not spend much time at the rig, so staying in an asphalt parking lot was okay. It is an economical & convenient place to stay short term. Nice spacing between sites & hookups well maintained. Staff were friendly & helpful. We would stay here again if back in the city.

It was a nice place but it is just a parking lot. The area we stayed had a significant slope making leveling difficult and the power/water hookup was through the fence in a different lot. Great location for an in-city stay, access to bike path very close and excellent dining options within walking distance.
