Wolf Lodge Campground

Overview

Wolf Lodge Campground offers a classic North Idaho experience, blending a scenic forest setting with essential modern conveniences. Located just east of the city center, this park serves as a gateway to the Bitterroot Mountains while remaining close to the region's famous water activities. It is a family-owned destination where the focus remains on a peaceful outdoor atmosphere rather than a bustling resort vibe, making it a favorite for those seeking a genuine mountain escape.

Location & Surroundings

Situated near the eastern tip of Lake Coeur d'Alene, the park is nestled in a lush, wooded valley surrounded by towering pines and native wildlife. It is conveniently located off Interstate 90, providing straightforward access for larger motorhomes while still feeling remarkably secluded from the highway noise. The area is defined by its proximity to Wolf Lodge Bay, a location famous for stunning sunset views and seasonal bald eagle watching.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground provides a diverse range of site options, including full-hookup RV sites, charming log cabins, and shaded primitive tent areas. Travelers appreciate the well-maintained facilities, which include modern restrooms with hot showers and a convenient laundry room for long-term guests. On-site, you will also find a well-stocked general store for supplies and a dedicated playground area. The sites are thoughtfully laid out to provide plenty of shade and a sense of privacy.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Just a short distance away, visitors can enjoy the historic Wolf Lodge Inn for a legendary local dining experience. Outdoor enthusiasts are perfectly positioned to explore Lake Coeur d'Alene for boating, kayaking, and fishing. Nearby trails at Fourth of July Pass offer endless opportunities for hiking and mountain biking through the national forest. For a day of family thrills, the park is a manageable drive from the popular Silverwood Theme Park.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an excellent choice for nature-loving families and long-distance road trippers who prefer a rustic, quiet environment over a crowded urban asphalt lot. It is a perfect fit for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the Idaho panhandle's expansive recreational wilderness. If you are seeking a friendly, community-oriented atmosphere in a lush forest setting that feels like a true retreat, this campground is a premier choice.

I love everything about this campground. The staff was amazing, the grounds are clean with lots of trees and their amenities are great for all ages. The only down fall is the location being right next to I-90. The roar of the highway is loud during the day and dies down at night so we kinda got used to it. Definitely try their sauna!!! It is such a nice amenity.

Dude! This is an amazing spot with beautiful views and great amenities! Great location, away from the city but close enough to get groceries if needed. The service from the camp site employees was above anything I could imagine. Kayaks to use, zip line and playground for the kiddos, even a sauna! We did it all while we stayed in the Wolf Lodge Cabin and will be making this a yearly getaway spot. I would recommend Wolf Lodge to everyone!

We booked a last minute RV site at Wolf Lodge Campground for Labor Day weekend so that we could be close to Coeur d'Alene and Silverwood Theme Park. I couldn't believe we were able to get a spot, and we could not have had a better experience! The campground is FANTASTIC for kids - they have a huge play structure, a really fun zipline, a trampoline with a net, and they show fun movies on a big projector screen in the evenings. They had great restroom and shower facilities, a fantastic outdoor sauna (such a surprise!), two dump stations, and more. We were really pleased with the experience and we can't wait to return for another visit next summer! Not to mention, it was a quick drive in to CDA and to Silverwood. Perfect location.

My family and I had such a wonderful time at this campground. Yes, the spaces were close together, but not so close that you were on top of people. The vibes were good, bathrooms clean, and the extra activities for the kids were great! We are already looking forward to returning next summer.

We LOVED our experience at Wolf Lodge. Eric and his staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating. The cabin we stayed in was cute, clean, and better than we even thought it might be. The grounds were clean and tidy with some activities for our kids. Our son loved casting his line into the stream that ran through the property. Right outside of the campground, the views were incredible with lots of opportunities for hiking and other activities. In fact, the staff gave us a very detailed list of several of the hikes and what to expect for each. Overall, just a great place for our family to experience Idaho!

I booked a tent spot while driving towards the area and when I arrived Erik greeted me personally, helped me get setup in a better spot and was absolutely wonderful! After a 12 hour road trip day this was welcomed! It was a short overnight stay and I departed at daybreak, but I would highly recommend staying here!

Eric was awesome, had my cabin ready 2 hours earlier and had extra water bottles for me. He and his staff were friendly and took care of anything I needed. I will be back

Such a fantastic staff and place to stay. I grew up in the area and I've never thought to camp here until now. We will be coming back again soon and often. My daughter loved all of the fun stuff to do for kids and the little shop on site is so convenient. This is one of the best camp grounds I've stayed. Everyone is so nice and respectful. The lady's working the front desk genuinely love their job.

My grandson and I came for the weekend and had a wonderful fun time! Met some nice people, played with dogs at the dog park. We made a fire outside of our cabin and made s’mores after dinner. The microwave and fridge made it easy to eat there. The most fun we had was kayaking on the stream. We will be back! ( Since the campground is right on the busy highway, I would suggest earplugs for most people. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful location!)
