Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park

Overview

Jellystone Park in Robert offers a high-energy family camping experience set against the backdrop of Louisiana’s beautiful piney woods. Known for its extensive programming and visits from Yogi Bear, this park functions more as a comprehensive destination resort than a simple overnight stop. Travelers find a blend of traditional outdoor camping and modern recreational facilities designed to keep children of all ages engaged throughout their entire stay.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the quiet community of Robert, LA, the park is nestled within the scenic Northshore region. Its location offers a secluded, natural feel while remaining easily accessible via Interstate 12, making it a convenient stop for cross-country travelers. The surrounding landscape is characterized by dense forests and proximity to the Tangipahoa River, providing a peaceful natural buffer from the hustle of nearby metropolitan centers.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is famous for its massive water zone, featuring multiple slides and interactive splash pads that are perfect for cooling off in the humid Louisiana heat. RVers can choose from a variety of site types, including premium options with full hookups and level concrete pads. On-site entertainment is abundant and includes:

  • A large jumping pillow and multi-level playground area
  • Mini-golf courses and themed gem mining experiences
  • A dedicated stocked fishing pond for catch-and-release fun

These features ensure there is never a dull moment between the daily scheduled activities and character meet-and-greets.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While there is plenty to do on-site, the location serves as a perfect gateway to the Global Wildlife Center in nearby Folsom, where visitors can enjoy a safari-like experience. Guests often take short trips to the historic town of Ponchatoula, known as the strawberry capital, to explore local festivals and antique shops. For those craving a taste of the city, the world-renowned dining and jazz clubs of New Orleans are less than an hour’s drive from the campground.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for active families who prioritize organized activities and social interaction over quiet seclusion. It is a top choice for travelers seeking a full-service resort atmosphere where the daily itinerary is packed with crafts, games, and character appearances. Because of the spacious layouts and high-quality infrastructure, it is also highly recommended for big-rig travelers who want a reliable and amenity-rich base camp in South Louisiana.

The grounds were much nicer than I expected and we really enjoyed the pools, lazy river and slides. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

New concrete pads for most sites, lots of activities for the kids…..trailer rides, tie dye t shirts, bingo etc. very nice pools for warmer months. The negative- vehicles driving very fast through the park, including one delivery driver, no gate to prevent anyone from driving through the park at night, no water to the bathrooms and lots of leaves in the restroom, and long hanging branches throughout which can damage the top of Class A RV’s.

Love camping here. Stayed in a cabin and I think a little privacy is very necessary and none of the windows had any kind of shade or curtain. Super cute but keys would not unlock all the doors and the door handles were not secured almost falling out. Pay a cleaning fee and my feet were completely black 5 mins being in the cabin the dust on the air filter and vent were absolutely disgusting. Stove worked for a total of 2 mins in the middle of cooking dinner. No lifeguard on duty at the pool which is fine but absolutely ridiculous how the have two water slides and nobody monitoring at the top or bottom someone is seriously going to get injured.

From first glance this place looks nice.... but the longer you are there you can tell they just put lipstick on a pig... First, the cabin is terribly stocked... but that was manageable. But imagine my surprise when we finish taking showers our first night here and the water in the shower will not turn off.... so at midnight we had to place a call to the front desk. Shortly after two gentlemen come and after sometime they are able to get the water turned off... They say they will come back the next morning to repair the broken valve. Morning comes and we are instead told that, they will not fix the broken valve on a weekend because if someone goes wrong they will have to shut the water off to the entire campground?!?! Their solution was to call them every time we need to use the shower to turn it on and off. Obviously this is quite the inconvenience. The AC air intake looked like you could make a fur coat with the amount of dust that had collected on it. I cannot imagine what the actual filter looked like. In order to use the kayaks and pedal boats you have to give a deposit for life jackets, which was fine until we located said life jackets. They were absolutely disgusting. Old, faded, probably dry rotted, but what was even worse was the wasp nests on a couple of them. Upon that discovery we returned to the desk and let the ladies know. They seemed to not really care at all. I would hate to see anyone be stung by wasp, especially a child. The amount of golf carts zipping around this place is ridiculous. Driving the wrong way on "one way" streets, not stopping for stop signs, blaring their music, and worse blinding people with their headlights after dark. In light of all of these issues we have been waiting since Sunday for a call from a manager.... which we have never received thus the reason for this review. With as many options as they have around here for campgrounds I will definitely reconsider before I return here again.

I will give an honest review of the cabin we rented and everything else but the service thus far has been a zero out of 10. We emailed questions about our reservation and after 3 weeks with zero response we called and was told nobody checks the email just call.. we simply asked does the cabin we rented have a bbq pit. The response was if it's in the picture sure. So for the next question we had we called and I can only assume the have hired an answering service. So I got no response to my call until an answering service recorded my message and said they will send it to them and they will respond the next day. We also tried to get a golf cart rental. We will only be there from Friday from 4 pm till Sunday at 11 at checkout. The only option for the rental is Three days. Meaning Monday at 11🤯 After calling, this is the response we got. ( We don't know how to fix the error on the website. And I quote : he said if we can charge the customer 3 days at 270 why would we change the price. If we don't sell out when you check in I'll give you a discount.. I'm praying we have a great weekend but if I didn't make this a family vacation I would have cancelled this trip simply because of the customer service we have received to this point.

This property is gorgeous. Way less concrete and way more trees and variety than Sun Outdoors closer to the freeway. There's also more pools which is nice when variety of types of customers might feel the need to transition to a different pool if one of them is being dominated by kids. Sun Outdoors has cabins that have a great view of the lake for sunsets but that's really the only benefit. I think the cabins here are probably better and they definitely have more variety. The water slides are a huge advantage but they can get a little crazy if you don't coach your kids and other adults about timing individual rides coming in behind little kids. But it's not a big deal if you see tons of kids going in a chain. If it's a big deal for you, try coming on Sunday or any other day besides Friday and Saturday. There's barely anyone around so you'll have the slides to yourself. Can't wait to come again. So far, I think it's also better than Margaritaville in Beau Bridge. The cabins are really expensive though. I wish they had bigger discounts and variable pricing throughout the year. I would definitely come more often than 1-3x per year. But $300+ is a lot per night for a cabin when no one is there. $50+ per night is also a lot for tent camping.

We had an amazing stay The entire site was clean, well-maintained, and peaceful — exactly what we were looking for. Our campsite was spacious with a good mix of sun and shade, and the hookups worked perfectly. The bathrooms and showers were some of the cleanest we’ve ever seen at a campground — a huge plus! There were plenty of activities for all ages, including hiking trails, a swimming area, and even fire pits for evening gatherings. It’s a great spot whether you’re RVing, tent camping, or just looking for a relaxing weekend outdoors. Highly recommend for families, couples, or solo travelers looking to enjoy nature without giving up comfort and cleanliness. We’ll definitely be back!

Alot of activities without all the high traffic in the park and not as much noise..just more laid back and families wanting to camp...not ride around on golf carts with music out of control

This place has way too many inconveniences, they will shut your water off multiple times without warning or a phone call, nothing. I have asked for a refund and the manager did not be any to. I understand no refunds but I’m absolutely not comfortable here and I have decided to just leave and take my losses. I’d recommended you Go somewhere else y’all
