49er RV Ranch

This a quaint RV park with limited shirt term RV spots. It is about 45 minutes to Calaveras, 15 minutes to Jamestown Railroad, and 2 hours to get to the Yosemite Valley. It is a very quiet place to stay. Spots are a little short, so with our tuck pulled in, there wasn't much space. However, this wasn't a trip where we just hung out at the camp ground. From the Sacramento area, there are a few ways to get here. Check the map and directions ahead of time so you know how you're driving and are comfortable with the roads and pulling a trailer.

The 49er RV Ranch is an amazing place to stay! I will never forget the kindness of the owners and maintenance when our trailer broke a leaf spring hanger. They were gracious and helpful while we repaired the trailer. One of my favorite things about this park is it is clearly family owned. You can also tell how much they care about it. The grounds are well maintained and it is such a fun atmosphere with the gold mining theme throughout. It is also a great location. It is easy to get to many of the amazing places to see in the area. I highly recommend 49er RV Ranch!

We really enjoyed our stay at 49er ranch. The staff are very friendly. We walked along the road into Columbia historic park, took around 15 mins. We panned for gold at the park which was a great experience. Our plot was by the road, so there was a little noise but not too disturbing. The facilities are clean, and we were really pleased to be able to use the laundry and have wifi here. Would recommend!

I was in a permanent spot, and it was very quiet, and secluded. The staff there are the absolute best! The manager is very knowledgeable and understanding. It's a great location for a weekend getaway.

Great little campground. Very small so not much to do within the ranch. This RV park is mainly set up for full time guests. We felt the website was a little deceiving in what things there were to do. We had 2 small kids that just wanted to ride bikes and play outside but there is only a small roundabout in front of the trailer parking to do this, or your campsite. We loved the quiet but even just playing a game of frisbee with our 5 year old after dinner seemed to disrupt the neighbors who went to bed at 4pm. We would stay here again but only for the ease of location to everything and if we didn't have kids. There is a more kid friendly RV park just down the road.

Pro - friendly, helpful staff. Con - small park but staff is very helpful with getting you parked. Biggest con - there is no place to walk around for exercise. The road just outside the entrance leads to the state park but it's not a very safe/walkable road. Not really a pro or con, but there are a lot of people who work and it's noisy when they leave since everyone is so close to each other. That can be a pro if you're anxious to get sight seeing in the morning. The park has some cute decor around that could really use refreshing. The location worked for why we were there and the staff was friendly.

Hi Fellow RV'rs. This was our first trip to the park, I didn't do my home work before I went there. The web site is a little bite over glorified for what it is. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and John was GREAT. BUT. Pictures and Inf. of what is there dose not quite make since. Not a lot of room for parking and trying to put your rig in is a little challenging but there willing to help. And the list goes on, very very old school environment and worn down. Please read other peoples reviews before going there, make sure that's what your looking for. Also the road noise is terrible, but that's not there fault. Also a lot of very hard working early morning people going to work stay there. No water at the water wheel. Complained three times. Over all it was OK. Thanks Tony and Linda and puppy.

We’ll try a different place next time. Too close to the road, massive rigs jammed into tiny spots, cold bathroom, drunken midnight lifers…

Stayed 3 nights in October 2021. Can’t say enough good things about the staff and facilities. We had an RV battery issue the first day - the maintenance staff were there immediately with a commercial battery charger to try to bring back the batteries. We ended up having to replace them but the staff bent over backwards to help us. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and well informed about the area. I had read reviews complaining about noise but my experience was that this was one of the quietest parks we have stayed in. I’d stay again without hesitation.

We had nice stay.

It's a nice small quaint park. Probably not a lot of spaces for super large rigs because it's not a huge park. But it was a nice park, people there were super friendly and hookups worked. Area was clean and it's in a cute part of Columbia just up the road from old town. I will definitely be going back.
