A truly beautiful place with stunning scenery, peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing swim in the lake. The campground is well-equipped, with clean bathrooms and ample parking, making the experience all the more comfortable. We traveled from Bogota, NJ, about two and a half hours away, and stayed nearby for the weekend. It was absolutely worth the trip. Given its proximity to the NYC metropolitan area, it feels like a hidden gem, and at just a $10 day-use fee, the experience far exceeds the cost. We’re grateful to have discovered this place and look forward to returning.

This is a GREAT campsite. We come every year the last 4 years and love it. Waterfront sites are the best. Hard to get, but worth it!

This is my third time visiting this campsite. This is one of my favorite places to go in the summer, the beach is very clean and there's usually not a lot of people around. The bathrooms are very clean too other than the usual camping bugs in outside elements. It's hard to get a place near the water so you have to get it early. A lot of private sites and beautiful trees and not a lot of bugs. Lots of places to picnic.

Nice lakeside campsite about 4-5 hours north of NYC. Sites are about $27 a night as of July 2025. Dog friendly and sites near 89-90 has direct water access. Minus one star due to mosquitos.

First one of the season, absolutely wonderful. They waited a little later for me to get here and the spots are well cleaned. Bathrooms are excellent and the showers are hot. Love it definitely coming back

We love coming here every summer! The sites are all pretty decently sized compared to other campgrounds we have been to. Some sites are definitely hidden gems. Whereas most are listed as waterfront or landlocked, campground regulars know the sites that include their own private beaches (unofficially of course). This campground used to be known as the big party spot but over the last six years coming regularly it really hasn’t been any thing like that. Yes it gets loud when it’s busy. But nothing out of hand like we have been told in the past. Dispersed throughout the campground are individual bathroom buildings (at least one in every camping section, always in walking distance), and there are three shower complexes. Two new with attached bathrooms and one older communal type. Some key notes, bring lots of bug-spray. Keep an eye out for cancellations because sites book up fast but there are always cancellations. And bring bug spray.

Loved it one of the best woody open private feeling state parks o have been to in a long time. Must of the sites look huge and have tons of room for you. All and all we really enjoyed this park Ave we will for sure find away back to it.

If you don’t mind not having hookups, then this is the place. Spacious & private lakeside site, dropped kayaks in easily. 2.5-3 pound bass all day on plastic minnows. Cute general stores a few miles away. Ask for Josh-he couldn’t have been nicer-very customer service orientated.

Nice State Campground with a great beach. Ice truck and Ice Cream truck go around too.
