Alamosa KOA Journey
Come visit the Great Sand Dunes and the many outdoor attractions this unique Colorado valley has to offer. Enjoy our big rig friendly RV sites, camping cabins and tent sites.
Nestled between the breathtaking San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains at 7,550 feet, the San Luis Valley is your gateway to adventure. Our KOA is near the golden ridges of the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, where you can hike dunes up to 750 feet tall. It's also at the base of Colorado's fourth tallest mountain, 14,345-foot Blanca Peak. We are close to several charming historic Colorado towns, museums, hot-spring pools, an alligator park, spectacular trails, numerous wildlife refuges, downtown Alamosa and a championship golf course. Or take a ride on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in nearby Antonito. There is so much to do here in the valley, so plan to stay a few days and explore! Then come back to the campground to enjoy our amenities and activities. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 100 feet. Your hosts: Deb Hankinson and Les Petersen

Great time as usual with KOA. Friendly staff, clean facilities. Love that firewood and food were delivered to campsite. Bonus for the gluten free options on food.

Exceptionally accommodating when we arrived without reservations, needing a place to recover from altitude sickness, even though they weren't officially open for the season. They were also very helpful to recommend a better route for us to continue our journey.

This was one of the best KOA campgrounds we have stayed in. Very nice site looking out at the mountains. The staff was friendly and helpful and they had the cleanest, most well equipped laundry room I've seen in a long time. Will definitely go on our repeat list.

The KOA is about 35 minutes from the Sand Dunes. We stayed for 2 nights with a group of friends, we had 2 cabins and a tent spot and everything was very clean and organized. The showers were clean and hot and there is a second bathroom block on the back side of the campground. They deliver wood and ice right to your camp spot which was awesome. Free coffe every morning! And they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner items. We got a breakfast burrito one morning for about $10 and it was delicious. The have some fun things for kids to do as well and they rent sand boards which is so convenient. We really enjoyed our stay!

Liked being a little away from town. Super friendly staff. Pool was nice. Beds in cabin were comfortable. Mini fridge in cabin. Enjoyed a pancake breakfast. Lots of items in the store if you forgot anything.

My wife and I had a great stay this past spring. We had two nights here to enjoy the local attractions (not long enough). The people are friendly, helpful, and very knowable about the local area. The camp sites were very clean, level, and ours came with a grill (so we did not half to unpack ours). We are looking forward to stay there again.

This place was a good distance from the National Park, but so is everything else. The staff was very friendly and had great recommendations. They will also deliver pizza, ice and fire wood from the camp store to your site. Plenty of access to bathrooms, trash bins, and plenty of room within each site. Very nice set up. My only heads up I would give, is there is a livestock pasture next door so we did have some issue with flies but not enough to be a major problem. Our site was very shady, the camp was clean and welcoming.
