Be prepared to hear small explosions all night as the snow in the tree above melts and comes crashing down. The ice rink is a joke, tiny and bumpy-don't believe the hype. On the plus side- saw a wolf cross road next to the comfort station at 3:30AM, lots of tracks going around and down to the lake, as well. Yurt is toasty warm.

Spent 3 nights in a yurt with my 1 year old, wife and dog during the snowy winter months. Had a great time, the structure was warm enough, plenty of electrical outlets despite what was read in the description and other reviews. There are snow shovels, broom and dust pan, show mat for drying all at the yurt.

Great campground, right on the lake. Not many comfort stations within walking distance but plenty of our houses with vault/compost toilets. Campsites were huge with lots of parking options.

Camped at mew lake 5 or 6 times, great area of algonquin. Few people with music to loud at night but to be expected as its a public park. Washrooms at the comfort station were a bit rough and the maintenance like door hinges, locks on the stalls etc need to be better looked after.

Beautiful little park but unfortunately so close to the highway we could hear traffic the entire trip. The section we were in also had no water and when I asked a park worker they said it was blocked and hadn’t been fixed with no indication of when it would be. Sounds like it had been not working for awhile. The beauty of Algonquin and access to hiking is why we booked it so all of the negatives were easily outweighed by the hiking and nature when we left the campground to enjoy it. If we were there to simply stay on our site and enjoy “nature” that way we would have been more disappointed as our site was about 40ft from the road. We knew it when we booked it but based on the map didn’t realize it was THAT close. Our site was quite large and plenty of space but a few closer to the lake were MUCH smaller so if you need space, don’t book a lakeside side, book on the opposite side of the road.
