Very large KOA, lots of shade and plenty of things for the kids. All sites are back in, many seem a little tight due to all the trees. Mainly grass or gravel sites. We had a very nice concrete pad, patio site that appeared to have recently been redone.

After reading some of the other Google reviews about the speed limit and how it was enforced, as well as "mean" staff, I was a little unsure about what we would be getting, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The slow speed limit is for a very valid reason (safety!) and no one yelled at anybody about it. We never once encountered any staff member that was anything but friendly and accommodating. The campground is beautiful - hidden away in the woods even though it's 5 minutes from Grand Valley. There are tons of things to do, and plenty of ways to keep kiddos occupied, or perfect spots for solo and unwind campers as well. We really enjoyed it, and would for sure camp there again.

On short notice we booked a weekend site for our family and travel trailer and tent. I had read the reviews and kept my expectations reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised by what a great campground it was! We were in the full hookup area with dirt sites. In our immediate area the sites (about 6) were quite narrow but very long which was great for having space for a tent. We had the nicest neighbors and so being tight wasn’t an issue. Loved the shade of the pine trees. It was quiet and dark at night. Owners were very friendly. They delivered wood to sites. We went on the glow wagon ride and it was fun! Lake Michigan was only 30 minutes away. We enjoyed the beach and nearby Bass Lake Rec Area hiking trails. Yes, the very slow speed limit for the campground was a little annoying but you get used to it. If a few extra minutes can keep a child safe, Im all for it. We pretty much stayed on our site, didn’t use the pool (it looked nice and clean though!) or paintball, so we didn’t wear the bracelets. The WiFi was okay when we arrived on Thursday but was not good enough to check social media when the park was full on the weekend. Verizon service was weak. Plan to unplug! Lastly, there were only a handful of seasonal sites which I thought was great. We will definitely come back!

I stayed here 2 nights with my family. The first day we got here we had problems with one of the workers yelling at us for driving 6mph instead of 4.93. our car is automatic and at 5mph the auto start kickes in. Then day after i went to the bathroom which they say they clean every hour " which is a lie." The shower have old paint flakes all over the the bathroom. The showers look like prison bathrooms. Your walk in shower are cement with paint also flaking off along with rust pieces. also The sinks were rusted from either the water or them being so old. We went into the "general shop " which was the same lady that yelled at us had a horrible attitude and even my nieces and nephews that are 3,5,7 and 8 asked why she was being "mean." This park has alot of potential but they dont put it where it needs to be. The bathroom are a safety hazard for the kids. You cant walk around the pond without being worried your gonna fall in. And maybe hiring better staff would make it more worth it. They say we are all a family but thats kind a ruined with your workers. The owner is an amazing guy !! Also we are camping right by the bathroom and main office but yet have horrible wifi.

The WiFi in this campground is not good. Kept kicking me off and even when I was on it, it was not working well. Seasonal campers were bossy and not very nice. The speed limit is so low that it is very hard to go. Seasonal yelled at us for having 3 cars in our lot when we just parked there for a few minutes. The cars were no where near the road so it was not in the way. Campsites were nice and big though. Staff was nice and the hayride driver was awesome. We loved watching them drive by.

Easy to get to. We stayed a couple nights in March so they didn't have the pool, office, bathroom, and laundry open. We didn't see any staff except the guy who filled our propane tank. It was quiet and had lots of trees. There were areas to play games and go for a walk. The lots were only backin but were flat and average size. We'd probably go back.

After reading other campers horrible reviews about the staff and facilities of this KOA I was highly motivated so share my 5 star review. We live in Allendale so this was a great location that still felt like we were away. Yes the roads are dirt but you’re camping. Yes some things are not perfect but you are camping. Yes the speed limit is slow but you are camping around a bunch of young children. With the HIGHLY enforced speed limit I felt at complete ease to let my kids have free rein to explore the whole campground solo. The service and staff are so friendly (of course unless you don’t follow the enforced rules.. welcome to being an adult lol). The passion and vision are there when you chat with the owner, who is super kind. We overall had an amazing experience and will gladly come back.

The Allendale/West Grand Rapids KOA is an excellent choice for all. The sites are more than ample with full hook-ups, some with concrete pads others with wonderful shade trees. There are multiple activities for children along with quiet and serenity for adults. The host, Mohawk, truly loves his job and treats each and every guest like family. The staff very friendly and helpful.

This place should be a KOA resort. There are so many activities for the kids and family. Mohawk is a wonderful character and you can tell he really loves his job and the kids love him. Staff was welcoming and helpful and there is a very well stocked camp store with everything you need and more. Super quiet at night with spacious sites and shade. There is a Kamp K-9, showers that could use a little updating but were clean. Laundry facilities and two ponds to watch the local wildlife. Goats to feed and pet, pool, jump pad. Nicely landscaped and everyone was friendly.

Loved our stay here! The owner is so nice (you can tell he enjoys what he does). Our site was easy to get in & out. Clean bathroom & shower. Other things we enjoyed: walking trails, lots of trees, well kept landscaping, feeding goats, water wars, hay ride, neon ride (music is terrific), paint ball was a blast! This campground did not disappoint. Caution: the speed limit in 4.93 mph. Do not exceed.

Brutal, cannot understand how KOA associates itself with this park. After spending 6 months traveling across Canada and the US this is by far the worst overnight we’ve had, we’ve also spent some nights boondocking in Walmart, Casinos and Cabelas , which have all been trouble free. However this park beats them all. No one answers the phones , office was locked when we arrived, no welcome package telling us where to go, wifi code or anything. So we go and find an empty spot and park up for the night. Once settled I leave a voice mail on the phone number attached to my reservation confirmation to leave a message that we arrived and what spot we took and if someone could call me back with the wifi code it would be much appreciated! All night no call, however at 11.30 as we’re about to pull out the owner/manager comes knocking at our window with full on attitude about how “normal people check in when they arrive at a park” etc etc. he was so freaking rude, blatantly lying to me that the phone message gives an alternative number to call. I listened to it 3 times, there was NO alternative number to call. But instead of apologizing he continued to argue with me. I’ve been doing this full time for a year now, that is ALOT of nights at a lot of parks…….. this is the absolute worst of any and looks more like a trailer trash junk yard too. KOA you shoudk be ashamed!

Beautiful campground nestled in the trees. Spacious spots. Looks like a great place for families with young kids. Tons for them to do. Not necessarily close to shopping so load up before you park. Easy commute to shores of Lake Michigan
