This is a beautiful campground. The staff couldn’t be nicer. It’s clean and quiet. They have a breakfast menu and dinner menu. Small selection but good. Laundry area and bathrooms are all good. We loved taking the train ride to Silverton and it was great going to downtown Durango. We would definitely go back and highly recommend.

Checked into this beautiful park this afternoon. Pretty level site, great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good pizza at the Cafe (can't wait to try breakfast in the morning). Unfortunately an SOB up wind of me is smoking a cheap cigar that has sent me off into a sneezing attack. For the last 4 days I've been in parts of the country that is extremely hot and I've stayed in AC at night. My first night in a week where I can sit outside in cool, pleasant temps. And I get to camp near someone with a cheap cigar habit. Sorry, as you can tell I'm not a fan of smoking, even outside.

Zero stars! They treat you like your children and they have all these rules and they are very unfriendly when there's a problem that comes up. They yelled at us because we cannot get out of our spot and we drove over some grass. Boo-hoo. They need to do the roads better and I can't believe the way we were treated when this happened. Do not go here. There are other beautiful RV spots in this town and this is not one of them. They treat you like kindergartners. Even when we arrived, they drove us to our spot twice because we had to unhook our Jeep first. I think we got it when we got the jeep you did not need to follow us like a baby and then have us park 2 inches from the other RV where we had to back up so we weren't touching the other RV when our slide outs went out. I think they think we're all little children and they need to grow up and provide a professional RV park. We have traveled throughout the whole country in Canada and have never been treated like this

One and done. This place is not for families. Edited to add- this park was genuinely well taken care of. My 12 year old son was never disrespectful; the comment of him riding above 5mph proves our point that this park is not family friendly. We did allow him to ride through the park at night. He was quiet and never disturbed anyone. During one of these outings he went on to their office porch at 10:30 at night to pet a local cat; he picked up said satellite dish as it was on the perimeter of the pond and he accidentally tripped over it; he rode his bike in the 2 acre dog park while there were no dogs present on a dirt mound. Our 7-10 year old girls went into the shop with money in hand to buy fish food but were turned away for lack of parental supervision. I’m genuinely curious to know where the staff of Alpen Rose thinks children should gain the confidence to become autonomous and independent adults if not in a setting such as this. Their rules are egregiously over reaching especially when said 12 year old is charged as an adult but still treated like a child. As mentioned in previous posts, this park would prefer to be a 55+ but will happily take your money and shame your children in the process.

The park is immaculate and manicured. They have a 2 acre off leash dog park. They are out of town enough to be quiet yet close enough for errands. The downside is the list of rules is extensive and the pool, fishing pond, and other amenities close early. You do need to pay to use the fishing pond. A great park for retirees or small children, but not if you have teens.
