This is a beautiful campground. The staff couldn’t be nicer. It’s clean and quiet. They have a breakfast menu and dinner menu. Small selection but good. Laundry area and bathrooms are all good. We loved taking the train ride to Silverton and it was great going to downtown Durango. We would definitely go back and highly recommend.

Checked into this beautiful park this afternoon. Pretty level site, great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good pizza at the Cafe (can't wait to try breakfast in the morning). Unfortunately an SOB up wind of me is smoking a cheap cigar that has sent me off into a sneezing attack. For the last 4 days I've been in parts of the country that is extremely hot and I've stayed in AC at night. My first night in a week where I can sit outside in cool, pleasant temps. And I get to camp near someone with a cheap cigar habit. Sorry, as you can tell I'm not a fan of smoking, even outside.

Zero stars! They treat you like your children and they have all these rules and they are very unfriendly when there's a problem that comes up. They yelled at us because we cannot get out of our spot and we drove over some grass. Boo-hoo. They need to do the roads better and I can't believe the way we were treated when this happened. Do not go here. There are other beautiful RV spots in this town and this is not one of them. They treat you like kindergartners. Even when we arrived, they drove us to our spot twice because we had to unhook our Jeep first. I think we got it when we got the jeep you did not need to follow us like a baby and then have us park 2 inches from the other RV where we had to back up so we weren't touching the other RV when our slide outs went out. I think they think we're all little children and they need to grow up and provide a professional RV park. We have traveled throughout the whole country in Canada and have never been treated like this

One and done. This place is not for families. Edited to add- this park was genuinely well taken care of. My 12 year old son was never disrespectful; the comment of him riding above 5mph proves our point that this park is not family friendly. We did allow him to ride through the park at night. He was quiet and never disturbed anyone. During one of these outings he went on to their office porch at 10:30 at night to pet a local cat; he picked up said satellite dish as it was on the perimeter of the pond and he accidentally tripped over it; he rode his bike in the 2 acre dog park while there were no dogs present on a dirt mound. Our 7-10 year old girls went into the shop with money in hand to buy fish food but were turned away for lack of parental supervision. I’m genuinely curious to know where the staff of Alpen Rose thinks children should gain the confidence to become autonomous and independent adults if not in a setting such as this. Their rules are egregiously over reaching especially when said 12 year old is charged as an adult but still treated like a child. As mentioned in previous posts, this park would prefer to be a 55+ but will happily take your money and shame your children in the process.

The park is immaculate and manicured. They have a 2 acre off leash dog park. They are out of town enough to be quiet yet close enough for errands. The downside is the list of rules is extensive and the pool, fishing pond, and other amenities close early. You do need to pay to use the fishing pond. A great park for retirees or small children, but not if you have teens.

Beautiful RV Park with all the amenities, and views of the red rock mountains & the Durango/Silverton narrow gauge train as it passes each day. Clean Bathrooms & showers. Friendly & super helpful staff. Adorable café that serves a delicious breakfast with tons of options & pizza & wings in the evening. This RV Park is very pet friendly. There is a fenced in 2 acre dog park, with a smaller park for little dogs, and a coin operated dog wash station. In the summer months the pool is a perfect spot to cool off. I love staying at Alpen Rose RV Park & I'm sure you will, too.

The park itself is very nice big spaces grassy areas big dog park. Quite expensive at $77 per night. We booked for three weeks and had a medical emergency and had to leave a week early and they would give no refund or credit even though well over half the park was empty as we were off-season. We’ve been at a lot of parks over the years and if you have to leave early for emergency or have some family situation where you leave early and there’s lots of open spaces they always give a refund or a credit towards future stays. We were very disappointed in this policy as it’s totally unfair when many spaces are still available for them to rent out. The moral of the story is don’t book for long periods of time as you will not get a refund if you leave early.

My husband, two dogs and I stayed for three nights. The grounds and facilities are all very nice and well maintained. They are strict on rules in order to keep the place nice - nothing crazy but if you’re used to little or very limited rules and contact with the folks that work at RV sites, this will be different. It’s very close to Durango and directly on the main road to Silverton and Ouray. It’s quiet and super dog friendly! I thought I would also mention it’s a little pricey compared to other RV spots we’ve stayed in but I guess that comes with it’s location and nicely maintained grounds. PS- there’s a mama fox and her babies you can watch on the next property over!

We camped here for a family trip to visit Mesa Verde and ride the Silverton Train. The owners were friendly and helpful upon arrival. Laundry facility was clean. We had site 30 which had a beautiful view, I would recommend any of the premium sites 1-30, the ones behind the building wouldn't have as nice of views. Location was a short drive to the Durango train station, like 15 minutes, but further to Mesa Verde, about 50 minutes, plus once in Mesa Verde NP it's another 40 minutes or so to most of the trails, so keep that in mind if that's on your itinerary. We went to the Hot Springs resort which is only like 3 minutes from this campground and that was awesome, highly recommend! Would definitely stay here again if I were in the area. For Mesa Verde I'd probably try to find something closer to the park.

Stayed here for 6 nights in February. It was a very quiet spot, I can appreciate their lights out policy. Wish more parks were like this, no bright street lamps at night. Plus the dog run is huge, my terrier had a blast looking for the prairie dogs. They will also fill your propane while you’re out for the day, so no worries of running out on cold nights. To top it off it snowed 12” the morning we needed to leave. CJ was out plowing before 7am and even helped us out of our spot. Will definitely be staying here again

This was the best park! 3 minutes from my favorite hot springs ever, best dog yard too! Great campsite just perfect to let the pups romp and relax at Derango hot springs...wonderful soft! We'll definitely be back here!

Great last minute overnight spot with our little trailer. We had planned to dry camp nearby but had so much fun in Durango, we wanted to stay a bit longer I. The day. Very helpful people, very nice and clean bathroom/showers, easy hookups, etc. Everything was great! Thanks again!

Owners were super nice and super helpful. The park isn't too far from town. It's very clean! Shower rooms and laundry room is great. I'd stay here again for sure

I was so happy to find a year round RV park with full hook-ups! This park has a beautiful setting! We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay. Our spot was level and a short walk to restroom/laundry. We were in the big rig sites & you do share an electrical pedestal with the person next to you. We didn’t have a neighbor during our stay but it might be a little crowded when the park is at capacity. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay.

Good value. Robbie was so helpful! Definitely going to recommend this place and stay again when I am in Durango!
