Alton RV Park

Overview

Alton RV Park serves as a practical gateway for those exploring central Ohio. Located just west of Columbus, this family-owned park provides a clean and straightforward environment for travelers passing through or staying for local events. It balances the convenience of an urban location with the attentive care of a managed facility, ensuring a reliable stay for rigs of various sizes and styles.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on the western edge of the Columbus metropolitan area, the park sits conveniently off West Broad Street in Galloway. While the surrounding area is suburban, it provides easy access to major highways like I-270 and I-70. This makes it an ideal spot for visitors who want to avoid the congestion of downtown but remain close enough to reach city highlights within a short drive. The park layout is open and level, characteristic of the central Ohio landscape.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed with modern RV needs in mind, offering full hookup sites that accommodate both 30 and 50-amp electrical requirements. Most sites are pull-throughs, which makes navigation simple for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels. Guests have access to essential facilities including clean restroom and shower houses, as well as on-site laundry facilities. Reliable Wi-Fi is available throughout the park, catering to digital nomads or those planning the next leg of their road trip.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

One of the primary draws of staying here is the proximity to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, frequently ranked among the best in the nation. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the nearby Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, which features over 7,000 acres of prairies and forests along with a resident bison herd. For those interested in urban entertainment, the Hollywood Casino and the historic German Village district offer dining and culture just a short commute away.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is best suited for big-rig travelers and city explorers who prioritize utility and location over resort-style recreation. It is an excellent choice for families visiting Ohio State University or professionals working temporarily in the Columbus area. If you are looking for a well-maintained home base with easy highway access and professional management, this park provides a secure and comfortable setting for your central Ohio journey.

We stayed here for a night to move our daughter into OSU. Close to Columbus, easy to get too, flat, nice RV sites. The staff was super friendly.

It was very nice and quiet, The young lady that checked us in was so nice and polite. It was a last minute stop and she was very accommodating to our needs. Thanks so much and we will be staying here again.

My sister, my brother in law, and my fur nephew stayed there. They called the manager to help with their pull out awning - as they were across town and the wind and rain was coming in. She helped with the awning - I call that REALLY NICE!! Over the years, I’ve referred several people and they’ve all been satisfied.

Small family owned RV Park. It was relaxing and quiet, as well as pet friendly. There is no designated pet area and little grass for them to walk. If we need an overnight stay in our motorhome, we would stay here again.

We stayed at Alton RV a second time this week because we loved the clean bathrooms and easy in and out. This park is perfect for a one-night stay on your way from point A to B. We needed ice and Barb directed us to the “drive-through” store across US-40. Barb was leaving the office for the day as we were ready to cross the highway and offered us a ride over and back. We got our ice and didn’t have to dodge cars. Such a nice gesture by Barb, and something that saved us some stress and possibly a lot more. Joy, you have a great little campground and one that we will recommend to our RV friends.
