Perfect stop for mid-week overnighter in March, campground nearly empty. It was quiet and clean, bathrooms too. A fire had come through fairly recently, so some campsites have only charred brush and trees, but the hills still had nice vegetation. The highway is hidden from view in some campsites, and negligible road noise, so it feels very remote. Would stay here again.

We came Valentine’s weekend on a spur of the moment roadtrip. The campground is large and was empty save for the camp host. Flush toilets, very decent! Spigots with running water near every campsite in addition to an area for teeth brushing and face washing. Campsites are sandy so easy to pitch a tent. It gets very, very cold at night in February so pack appropriately! Beautiful view of mountains and we saw tons of birds, rabbits, and even one deer!

We came here in dusk seeing running around rabbits. After setting up the tent we had a really good dinner with our good friends with lot of booze and nice tequila in flickering fire and starry night. Faraway strings of beautiful yellow and red light flickering and moving on freeway 5. Sleeping with cricket singing and night cold weather is interesting and peaceful. In the morning we had breakfast with bees flying around our food and some birds with blue tail feathers. This camping have really good view surrounding with some not much tall trees, good well kept restrooms with sinks, toilet bowls (having bunches of toilet paper and running water). Close by around 15 minutes car driving or 30 minutes bike riding we have Buck Creek trailhead around 7.5 miles. This is not my trail recommendation. It’d better enjoying water activities in Pyramid Lake Recreation Area with $15 parking per vehicle. This recreation area has fishing, swimming, sky jetting, boating… with dog friendly. Spending almost whole day at this beautiful area we came back our camping site to see most of our tents, canopies flying everywhere by strong wind (I don’t know by effect of Hilary Hurricane or by default of this location). Some one told us the wind will gone after sunset. However we decided to leave 1 day earlier than planed. I wish you all have a good time with beloved family and friends in this camp site. Best regards.

Very beautiful place! Full cell service here, and the ranger station has amenities such as ice and wood. There isn’t much shade so be mindful that during summer it gets very hot during the day, but luckily there’s a lake nearby that you can swim in to cool off. If you don’t have extra money don’t drive over there, there’s a $15 per car fee to park. Spigots are everywhere, and the bathrooms are water powered and well kept. There’s a lot of cricket noise at night so you can’t the highway nearby at all. Good place to view stars, you won’t see all of them but you can see more than in the city. Bring bug spray! Mosquitos and flies are very friendly. I didn’t see too much bear activity, but they are around so follow the bear procedures for sure. Lots of rabbits too! Ravens in the campsite and beautiful bird song to wake up to. It does get cold at night, even with temperatures up to 90degrees during the day so bring blankets! No showers though, so don’t plan on that!

Pros: Large campsites with plenty of space to spread out campground is well-maintained and free of trash Lots of hiking trails nearby, perfect for exploring the surrounding wilderness Cons: No shade, so be prepared for hot weather No showers, so you'll need to pack your stuff. Overall: This campground is a great option for those who are looking for a secluded and adventurous camping experience. The large campsite is perfect for groups, and the lack of shade means you'll be able to stargaze at night. The abundance of hiking trails make this campground a great place to explore the great outdoors. Tips: Bring your own shade, such as a canopy or tarp, if you're camping during hot weather. Pack plenty of water, as there are no showers at this campground. Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars Would I recommend this campground? Yes, I would recommend this campground to anyone who is looking for a secluded and adventurous camping experience.

We had heard bad things about camping here but it was great!!! We camped in loop one and had a spot in the sun on a weekend of a heatwave but hung in the lake all day and came back when cooled! We had a great time and will definitely be back! The bathrooms were clean! The only thing I wish is that they had pictures of the camping sights when you book... also if going to the lake prepare to go down and up a big hill... bring wagons

We were suppose to camp here because of the exciting water activities listed in the website. But unfortunately, these activities are far from the campgrounds. you need to drive to go to the lake. But campsites and the restroom were clean. plus there's not a lot of campers.

Nice relaxing place to get away for the weekend. Best part is they have really clean restrooms in the camping sites.

Well maintained campground with very clean restrooms. Can book a reservation online. Ice and wood sold on the grounds and camp hosts always do rounds around to check if you need help. Will stay again, calm and peaceful.
