A place to truly experience the majesty of the Lord's creation, up close and personal... I could never get enough of it. It makes one's soul rejoice, for truly. the whole Earth is full of His glory... - Isaiah 6:3

I've been exploring Colorado's national forests for over 40 years, starting with childhood trips to Arapaho National Forest near Empire. Now living closer to Roosevelt National Forest, I still find it just as special. What I love most is the ability to stop almost anywhere and discover a new trail. The vastness of these mountains is incredible—you can hike for decades and still find places that feel untouched. Someone once told me that if you flattened all the Rockies in Colorado, the surface area would exceed that of Texas, and after all these years of exploring, I absolutely believe it. This forest is a treasure worth protecting and visiting.

I drove up from Denver to Guanella Pass last Friday afternoon. The morning rain sh was over and I had the road (almost) to myself. I ❤️ Fall!🍁🍂🎑

Challenging, especially for someone from Florida. Elevation, don't underestimate it. Beautiful views, worth the effort.

We hiked on a weekday in late fall and the trail was not busy. Guessing that it's a different situation on weekends.

Am amazing place to vamp, pretty quite other than a shooting range near by. Super close to denver also so it is worth the drive and camping time. Amazing river and a ton of edible plants. Bear boxes are required to camp. Also, free.

Great 4x4 trails, great camping and amazing views! We always have a wonderful time in the mountains. It's so relaxing and peaceful. Definitely my second home. What a beautiful time of year, leaves are just beginning to turn!
