Olive Ridge Campground Allenspark, CO

We had so much fun camping here and will definitely be back! The grounds were very nice and the camp hosts take really good care of it. Lots of tree coverage and many good hammock spots. The cleanest pit toilets I’ve ever been to and they were cleaned 2x daily while we were here. Very busy weekend spot, but the campers were respectful of quiet hours. There’s some road noise even further into the grounds but it wasn’t too bad. All sites had a picnic table, bear box, and fire pit. Some also had grills. Most had tent pads.

Nice to have a campsite with half FF, which gives better opportunities for Coloradans. Nicely wooded. Camp hosts Kurt and Nick are fantastic with their friendly demeanor and do a great job keeping the place clean and peaceful.

Olive ridge campground was an awesome place to camp. Each campsite is far apart from each other, not like most places where  they jam in as many people as possible. These campsite are spread apart.

No cell service, if need to call head towards estes park to call. So olive ridge is peaceful and quite. The hosts are very welcoming and very friendly. I would definitely come back and stay again.

I was informed that forest service wants to expand the campground and add more spots. It should stay as is. No need to ruin something that is already perfect

This is a very nice primitive national forest campground. It has always been well maintained and kept clean with this year (2025) being one of the very best with Kurt as camp host. We have been going here for 16 years, often several times a year. The water supply that has been absent for a number of years is being repaired this month so things will only get better.

Such a beautiful family friendly campground! The camp spots are nicely spaced out and the bathroom facilities were clean and stocked with toilet paper. There’s no cell service but that was expected and appreciated. Highly recommend 🙌

Beautiful, quiet campground with a very hospitable Camp Host.  The site was raked clean when we arrived.  Bathrooms are clean and well-stocked.  No services including water fill station or dump station but the tree-filled sites with no light pollution are worth the lack of amenities.  We'll be back!

The campground is very well maintained and all the spots seem pretty great. The camp host, does a great job. We saw them consistently driving around checking on things. They have a bear box for each camp site and few  trash dumpsters between sites available.

Please note that there are many signs posted as you enter the campground discussing a fire ban in the area. As a camper, it is your responsibility to know and follow these rules as soon as you come in the campground. The fires you saw were propane fires, these are allowed through this fire ban.

I am grateful to the wonderful hosts in this campground for helping to educate our guests with understanding the rules and upholding them. You are lucky that the Forest Service rangers didn't give you the standard $500 fine associated with not following the fire ban.

I recently stayed a night here with my girlfriend.

We had a camp fire going for well over an hour before a worker/host came and told us that there was a fire ban (level 2 according to the worker) and helped us douse our fire.

I didn't argue and was respectful as I come to this campground quite a bit and have been coming here for over 7 years.

Later on in the evening my girlfriend and I had to use the restroom before we called it a night. Upon walking to the restrooms we saw 5 other campsites with a fire burning ???

Why do I feel like we were singled out or discriminated against?

To the Campground Host: If you are to enforce fire restrictions on  one tenet, you must enforce it for all tenets!

This is the place to stay!! It isn’t as chaotic and busy as the campgrounds in the Park, but it’s also a fairly close drive to Estes Park and RMNP. Wild Basin is just up the road! The host, Curt, is a great guy, keeps the campground in order and cleans the bathrooms daily. I really have no complaints, it made our trip just that much more enjoyable.

After living in Boulder County for 20+ years, we finally camped at Olive Ridge. We loved it! Beautiful views and flowers.
Shirley the camp host was so friendly and helpful. We will stay again!
