Beautiful scenery! Relatively very quiet at night. Nice sites with plenty of room!! $14.00 a night.... perfect!!! Definitely saved this on Google Maps!!

Across from a river that has a fishing bridge but very little access for other activities. There is no water available. Bring your own. The vault toilets are decent. Kind of pretty if you like the desert look. Solid picnic table and fire ring. I didn't think you should have to pay 10 per car on top of the camping fee. There really isn't a great river access.

An absolutely gorgeous place! We saw a female bighorn bit unfortunately too ar away to get a picture. Loved driving toward Silida when the Songre De Cristo Mountains Popped into view, they really stand out! The campground was quiet and seemed well managed and clean.

Such a great stop to catch your breath. Sometimes it is our destination while driving along the Arkansas River. Other times it is a great place to stop on our way into the mountains. Either way, looking out over the river is breathtaking. In summer the rafters go by. There is a small beach where you can wade into the water, but there are lots of rocks, so wear water shoes. Plus it is ice cold most of the time. Still fun to dip your toes when on a road trip.

This is a great campsite. I have come here two years in a row and stay one night and raft the next day. Each campsite has space for a tent that is all gravel, a picnic table and a metal fire pit with a grate to cook something. There is good space between each campsite. There is a bathroom too on site, no running water. You can walk across the highway and there is an overlook over the water. This is where the five point rapid is. There is an eddy that is sandy where you can get in river, just be careful to not go out too far and get sucked into the white water. There is no phone service here. I often see big horn sheep from my campsite up the hill.

This is part of the Arkansas River Headwater Recreational Area. All of the locations have no water, electric or dump. There is none at any of the campsites and the toilets are compost (out house) style. However, we were right on the river and the mountains are beautiful. It was our first boondocking experience and it went very well.

Second time at Five Points. Both times it was about half full. People seemed to settle down at around 10:30. Under bridge access to river. Average sites. Surrounded by mountains. Recommend.

Would have loved to stay there but couldn't get a WiFi signal to pay for the space... Pretty area and extremely clean!!!

The day use area has a special meaning for me. In July of 1997, the wife and I stopped here to have a little picnic with the Dairy Queen hamburgers and fries we had bought at the Royal Gorge area. It was here, I believe I took one of the best photos of my life. We stopped here a few more times over the years up until 2010. It’s a wonderful little area even if it cost you to get in. I don’t know if they still charge for day use or not. I bet they do. Below is that picture I took of the wife and I along the Arkansas River here. It will be 25 years ago this coming July.

The camp sites themselves are nothing to get excited about; they don't have ANY running water, (out houses, not toilets. No sinks. No water hookups.) BUT there is an access road under the highway that leads to the Arkansas, and if you go down to the overlook there's an awesome little sandy beach. Shhhh, don't tell anyone I told you!

Nice little rest stop with picnic areas/rest areas in the sun or in the shade. Plenty of parking even for larger vehicles and vehicles towing campers and trailers. There are also restrooms on site and the whole rest area seemed to be pretty handicap accessible also, from the parking to the facilities and pathways.
