Overview

Willow Beach is a tranquil Army Corps of Engineers campground situated on the shores of an oxbow lake formed by the Arkansas River. Located just outside the Little Rock metropolitan area, this park offers a unique balance of natural beauty and accessibility. Travelers frequent this site for its scenic waterfront views and well-maintained facilities, making it a reliable choice for those exploring the central Arkansas region. The atmosphere is quiet and rustic, prioritizing a serene outdoor experience over resort-style luxuries.

Location & Surroundings

Set in the small community of Scott, the park is nestled along Willow Beach Lake and Pool 5 of the Arkansas River. The landscape is characterized by towering cypress trees and lush vegetation typical of the Arkansas Delta. Visitors often enjoy the sights of local wildlife, including various waterfowl and migratory birds. While the setting feels secluded, the park is only a short drive from the Arkansas River Trail, providing a peaceful escape that remains conveniently close to urban amenities and major transport routes.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground features 21 spacious sites equipped with electric and water hookups, accommodating various rig sizes with ease. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire ring, perfect for evening gatherings under the stars. On-site facilities include a boat ramp for easy river access, a playground for families, and several picnic shelters for larger groups. A dump station is centrally located for convenience. While the park maintains a natural feel, the paved pads provide a level and stable surface for setting up camp.

A super pretty area to visit, unfortunately we visited right before they opened the day use area, but there were still some areas we could visit like the campground and pavilion area. The gentleman at the booth was super nice and informative!

Very quiet, small campground. There are only 21 sites and they are water and electric only. There is a dump station at the exit. This is a C.O.E. campground and it is beautiful. We were on site F19 and it was great. When we come back (and we will) we would try to get F21 for the view and space.

Great park. Really enjoyed staying here for a couple of nights. We would come back again. It was duck season, so daylight the shooting started. Didn’t brother us. We sat out and watched a lot of ducks flying south. Also watching a lot of people missing them shooting. The river along side the banks was a stopping point for gathering water on The Trail of Tears.

This park and campground is fantastic! These photos were taken the weekend before Thanksgiving. The staff was great. The ONLY thing that would make it perfect would be if sites had sewer. There's a dump station for the way out though.
